HudHud- It is an epic poetry

weddings, funerals and
wakes.
Badiw – is the oldest
traditional Cordilleran way of
storytelling in the form of
chant
Owiwi- What is the term for a
lullaby song of Kalinga tribe.
Salidumay- It serves as an
indicator of rejection and
acceptance towards the man
courting a woman.
Igway- It is considered as the
Mangyan province music,
normally sung for leisure.
Oggayam- It serves as an
indicator of rejection and
acceptance towards the man
courting/wooing a woman.
Idiophones- A musical
instruments in which a
resonant material such as
wood,stone or metals vibrate
to produce the initial sound.
Membranophones- musical
instrument which produces
sound primarily by way of a
vibrating stretched
membrane.
Aerophones -are wind
instruments. They produce
sound by blowing air in its
Mouthpiece.
Idiophones -are musical
instruments whose sound is
generated through
vibrations by striking, rubbing
or plucking - without the use
of strings or membranes.
Ambahan- It is the most
popular form of vocal music
among the Mangyan.
Iyaya -is the Mangyan
version of a lullaby. Much like
the regular lullaby, this is
mostly sung to lull babies and
young children to sleep.
Kudyapi -is a long-necked
string instrument used by the
Mangyans of Mindoro.
Gitgit- is another stringed
instrument with 3 or four
strings commonly made of
sculpted wood.
Subing- is the Mangyan
version of a Jaw’s harp, a
lamellaphone that has a
flappable tongue in the middle
that produces sound when
plucked.
Agung- It is a set of metal
shaped like a pail with a circle
in the middle.
Batac - is a chant performed
by the Taganuas five days
after the interment of the
deceased.
ULIT- is a “shamanic” chant.
Shamanic deals with the act
of curing the sick through
rituals like chanting.
Balitaw- is a Visayan folk
song from Malayan word
“berita” which means
narration or balita in Tagalog.
Kukok- is an Ilonggo folk song
which depicts the merriment
of two love birds
on a tree, the male being
“Alimokon.
A love song is a song about
being in love, falling in love,
and heartbreaks upon the end
of love and the feelings that
these experiences bring. It
can be found
in the histories and cultures of
most societies, though their
universality is a modern
phenomenon.
A courting song is a song
about courting or dating. It
represents the romance
between two people.
A drinking song is a song
sung during social gatherings.
It may vary from person to
person and region to region in
both the lyrics and in the
music.
A farewell song is a song of
goodbye or leaving someone.
A lullaby is a soothing song
with which to lull a child to
sleep.
A work song is typically sung
for two reasons: to coordinate
the labor of a group of people
working together, which
improves the efficiency of the
work, and to relieve the
boredom of a tedious job,
which improves the lives of
the workers.
