December Newsletter

Welcome to December, the month of Christ's birth, advent, etc. We pray that you will experience
a little bit of the Christmas spirit this month. As we head towards the most magical time of the
year, we understand the challenges that come before and after. We have made tremendous
progress this year as a company. As we approach Christmas, I hope you can reflect on our
achievements and develop ways to implement the development plans. Even as we look forward
to making our company better, we all strive to make our company better, you should strive to
spend enough time with your loved ones. Some may not know it, but you are at the center of
their universe. In return, you should endeavor to be generous with your love and approval of
them.

Work & Development Plan

Thank you to the majority of staff for completing their 2022-2023 ministry year work and
development plans. For those who have not yet submitted plans, a weekly list will be sent to Tim
for follow-up with individuals. If you have any questions or need help, please reach out to Yvette
for guidance.

CBOQ Staff Christmas Gathering

We are looking forward to seeing everyone on December 13 at Glenerin Inn for our Staff
Christmas lunch. Feel free to wear your favorite Christmas sweater, shirt, or socks, especially if
it lights up or is a shoo-in for the ugly Christmas sweater winner! Remember to submit your
dietary choices and requirements to Emma.

Office & Parking

Snowfall is starting. Please take extra precautions when walking in/out of the building and
parking your car. Also, it’s possible that the concrete parking stops at the end of our parking lot
will be damaged by the snow plows. Let Paola know if you see any damage to the parking stops
so she can let Richard know.

Take 5 Message: Year-End Expenses/Invoices

All invoices and staff expense reports relating to 2022 should be submitted as soon as possible
to finance@baptist.ca for processing. To help the Finance team meet our audit timelines, the
deadline to submit expense reports and invoices relating to 2022 is Friday, January 13, 2023.
Any submissions after this date will be reviewed case by case to determine if they will be
recorded in 2022 or 2023.

December Birthdays
Other than the birth of Christ, we have one birthday this month. James will have his birthday on
the 20th of this month. Let us meet on that day to celebrate his birthday, as our culture has
always been. Come with gifts to make his day memorable.
Last years newsletter

As we approach the nativity scene, let's close our eyes to imagine the symphony of
angels rejoicing, the shepherds worshipping in a sacred space, and the joy within Mary
and Joseph's hearts. While we focus on celebrating that sweet moment, we also are
aware of the difficult path that came before and after. Joy and peace, amongst hardship
and sorrow.

We've seen the wounds and scars of the pandemic on us and those that we serve. As
you approach Christmas, I hope you can close your eyes, pause the world and rest your
soul...to revel in the miraculous love and hope that Jesus brings...and to take that
invitation back out to our hectic world.

With gratitude,
Koon
