(10 mins) WARM UP

PART A - TONGUE TWISTER OF THE WEEK

Display the picture on the screen and set the time for 20 seconds.
Students are to repeat it 3 times within this duration.

Be sure ss talk about Tongue Twister and ask the comprehension


questions accordingly;

1. Which sea animals do you know?

2. Have you ever seen a walrus?

PART B – GAIN ATTENTION

Ask students to open their notebooks or get a piece of paper to draw


a picture according to the sentence that you are going to say. Then,
say “I imagine a city with 3 tall buildings” Then give students time to
draw this picture. Then, say “I see a park in this city” Finally, say “I
see 5 cars in this city”

Then, ask volunteer to come forward and tell sentences like you for
others to draw.

Continue for a while, you can do the same about a village too.

Tell students that they are going to revise and remember what they
(10 mins) have learnt so far.

STEP 1

Create a Venn diagram on the white board and write the titles ‘CITY’
and ‘VILLAGE’ as in the example below:

Discuss with the students the similarities and differences between


cities and villages and fill the Venn diagram. Then, ask students to
write two sentences about villages and cities.
STEP 2

Write ‘Burj Khalifa’ on the board and ask students that if they know
what it is or not. Elicit some ideas from the students. Play the
(10 mins) ‘Amazing view from the Burj Khalifa’ video and watch the video as a
class without giving any information about it.

After watching the video elicit students’ guesses about what it is.
Elicit the answers again from the students. Then say that Burj Khalifa
is the tallest building in the world. Then, say that “Do you want to
learn more about the geographical records in the world?”

STEP 3

Display the ‘world's smallest country’ ppt and go over the slides, ask
questions below:

 Who created the tiniest map of the world?


 It is half as wide as what?
 Ready for more cool geography facts?
 How many years ago the world’s oldest map carved?
 What does it show?
 How many years ago was the world’s first city built?
 What is the name of the first city?
 How many people stayed there?
 Where are the underground ruins now?
 What is the most crowded country in China?
 What is the China’s population?
 What is the world’s population?
 What is the smallest country?
 How many people live there?
 What is the country that the most languages spoken?
 How many languages are spoken there?
 What is the world’s tallest building?
 Where is this building?
 How many floors does it have?
 What is the tallest pyramid in the world?
 How many stone blocks is it made of?
 How many feet tall is it?
 What is the biggest structure built by people?
 How many years did it take to build it?
 Does it still stand today?

When you finish ask students to prepare three simple questions


about the ppt to ask each other (Pair work). Then, invite some of the
pairs to the board to make the whole class hear.

IF TIME

Play the ‘Hobbiton’ video. After students watch it ask the questions
below;

- What do you see in the video?


- Is it village or city?
- What can you find in this village?
- Do you like nature?
- Do you want to live in here?
- Are the houses big or small?
- Can you see a tall building?

You can share Hobbiton is a village in New Zeland.
