PERSONAL STATEMENT FOR ADMISSION

Considering the importance of standing out in a competitive career path and to have an
edge in today’s workplace, I have decided to enroll for a master’s degree programme in
human resource management at the University {UNIVERSITY NAME}.

I am passionate about human resources management as a course and a career path, and
considering my academic background which has positively influenced my career
decision; it is time to take a step further in this field of study. A master’s degree in
human resource management is an opportunity for me to collaborate with professionals
around the world, knowing that this course places more emphasis on teamwork, group
projects and allows various implementations of leadership skills in practice which
exceeds years of work in some organizations.

A comprehensive understanding in some areas of human resource management is

important to me, mostly, managing diversity in workplace and how to handle
complexities arising from in-depth research on different human resources management
topics which I am confidence that the University of South Wales would offer. I am sure
of valuable opportunities in the course of my studies, such as consulting based projects
which are centered on real world problems on how human resources management
strategies/intervention come into play. This would foster personal development and
would be instrumental in enhancing my critical thinking skill.

A master’s in human resource management would develop my critical awareness of

legal, ethical, social and economic challenges, and their practical implications on human
resources strategy, processes and operations. Pragmatic case studies and assignments
would develop my ability to link people programmes to business objectives and update
my knowledge of contemporary global thinking and learn how to engage leaders and
various stakeholders in achieving their goals.

I choose the United Kingdom as my study destination because it is globally recognized

and well known for its well equipped world-class learning system that aids professionals
and researchers to stand out in their areas of interest. However, from the reviews of
past students from University of South Wales, it was revealed that the university is one
of the pioneering universities in United Kingdom with no racial discrimination.

Lastly, master’s in human resource management would be an opportunity for me to

build on a concept that I am familiar with, gain new insight on management techniques
from industry leaders and be better positioned strategically upon graduation with the
core competency required for future employment opportunities.
