 Introduction of Rules
Rules are established to protect the weaker class in society since they are at a
disadvantage if such regulations are broken.

 What are the Rules in Sports?

The primary rules define the structure of the activity; the size or shape of the area,
the number of participants, the type of equipment required, and the objective of the
activity.

 Why Are Rules Important in Games?

If you have ever played a game with friends and family and found yourself embroiled
in an hours-long argument about “the rules”, you surely wonder who made up the
rules and why they are important.

 How do rules help us in life?
All the rules and laws have the same purpose. They organized the relations between
individuals and the society to make it clear what is right and wrong and what
happens if someone breaks the rules.

 Why do we need rules and regulations?

 Rules for Players
The rules for players vary depending on the sport they play and the level they play
at. This prevents a bias against things such as age, development, and skills on
teams.

The code of conduct requires that players exhibit exemplary behavior during sports
activities. Players must respect umpires, coaches, managers, and other players and
demonstrate good sportsmanship.

 Rules for Coaches and Managers

To be able to successfully train a team and mentor players during a game, coaches
should fully understand the rules of the sport they coach. By not following the correct
rules of the sport, the team could face penalties caught by officials during games.

Coaches and managers require to consistently present a professional image, which

includes appearance and behavior, during all activities. The code of conduct calls for
officials to display enthusiasm, respect, honesty, and fair play.

 Rules for Officials
Sports players and coaches depend on officials including umpires and referees to
understand all of the rules of a game. Officials should also understand the signaling
and whistling codes for the sports they govern
 Rules Help to Prevention Injury
Sports rules help prevent injuries during practice and in games. Rules govern things
such as access to working safety gear, including helmets, padding, and mouth guards
 Rules for Parents
The code charges parents with demonstrating exemplary behavior at all times
during sports activities. Parents should remember the volunteer-status of board
members, coaches, and managers and respect all officials and players
 Rules for Spectators
Every sport publishes a code of conduct for parents, coaches, and spectators to
manage the environment in which sports play. The code prohibits unsportsmanlike
conduct, disrespect of game officials, unofficial coaching, and verbal abuse of players,
such as ridicule and booing.

How to Rules Help Prevent Sports Violence
 Aggressive play in sports can result in injury but isn't considered violent because
it is within the rules of the game.
 Have players, parents, and coaches sign a code of sportsmanship so everyone
involved in the sport is responsible for preventing violence.
 Enforce consequences to make it clear that you don't tolerate violence. When
participants realize that their actions have consequences that may affect their
future, sports violence can be prevented.
 Hand out guidelines or communicate with spectators what you consider violent
and the ramifications of a violent act.
 Teach kids sportsmanship by emphasizing that a sport is fun to play and that the
outcome of the game isn't the most important aspect.
 Use law officials. Police officers have the authority to stop violence and maintain
control of sporting events.
