8. Communication description
8.1 Single-alone communication
Data can be communicated with the upper computer via RS485 or RS232, as follows:
8.1.1 RS232 communication wiring
The RS232 interface adopts 6P6C straight PCB welded telephone socket (round needle), refer to 7.1 pin
definition.
8.1.2 RS485 communication wiring
The RS485 interface adopts 8P8C straight PCB welded telephone socket (round pin), and pin definition
refer to 7.1 pin definition.
The RS485 interface is generally used for cascading scenarios and also for data communication with the
upper computer. When communicating with the host by the RS485 interface and, more attention should be
paid to the selection of the dial address. The address of the dial switch on the management system must
correspond to the dial address of the upper computer (the address 0 is generally not used for communication).
8.1.3 The dial-up switch address selection

14
The dialing switch is between RS232 interface and LED indicator, the shape is shown on the graph and
the following table for address selection:

The function of the dial switch is to select the communication address of the management system (6 bits)
and the dial switch is a binary count. In the figure above, 1 represents the lowest bit, and 6 represents the
highest bit. Each bit dials to the ON position means 1, and to the reverse position (OFF) means 0. Four
binaries can represent 0,1,2, - - -, 62,63, with a total 64 addresses.
Note: If you want to set the management system address to number 3, you need to dial 1 and 2 to the ON
location (address bit 011) instead of dial 3 to the ON position.
8.2 Parallel communication
The BMS can be communicated in parallel via RS485, connecting the RS485A, RS485B of each RS485
interface. The address selection of parallel communication is realized by the dialing switch on the management
system, and different management systems need to use different dialing addresses.
In parallel communication, the status of different systems can be monitored through the multiple group
display of the upper computer monitoring interface.
