My warmest congratulations to the completers and graduates of School Year 2021 – 2022!
 
The COVID- 19 global pandemic took us all by surprise, the world as we know it has changed, and yet, here we are in
celebration of your achievement as graduates. The diploma you hold in your hand represents the shift you will and
must make. For you to satisfactorily achieve completion of the basic education under the K to 12 Program during this
time of pandemic is no easy task both for you and your parents and guardians who have dedicated so much effort to
ensure that your education continues. You have been taught how to recognize and respond to shifting demographics
that are bringing greater diversity to our social fabric, as well as divisiveness caused by conflicting views and
environmental trends that demand our attention.
 
You are the inspiration of our next batch of learners. In moments of weakness, timidity, and fear of the uncertainty,
they will look up to you because you have hurdled the challenges of your time, your school life during this pandemic.
 
If commencement speeches reflect the times we live in, then this year’s theme, Gradweyt ng K to 12: Masigasig sa mga
Pangarap at Matatag sa mga Pagsubok (K to 12 Graduates: Pursuing Dreams and Fostering Resilience in the Face of
Adversity,” echoes the need for you, our graduates to prepare for what is to be. Together with global villaging the
major threats that we face in the 21st century whether its nature or man- made knows no discrimination. Adversity
itself does not recognize skin color, gender identity, faith, political affiliation, even currency.
 
We in the Department of Education, your teachers, school personnel, and officials, have put our best efforts to provide
you with only the best basic education services we could muster amidst this pandemic through various distance learning
modalities. Some of you may have participated in our pilot limited face to face classes, some online classes, yet
everyone has braved the challenges.
 
My dear graduates, our hearts are bursting with joy for your accomplishments, which we also share in some significant
measure. As the thread of learning, hard work and success bind us together we expect you to be the beacons that the
world needs today as much as ever.

Indeed Covid 19 pandemic made a sudden change of your learning delivery mode from interactive
learning to distance modular approach and luckily to limited face to face. You adapted bravely in order
to finish your secondary education. Thus, you can proudly say “We SURVIVE, WE ARE
VICTORIOUS”.
This years’ theme “K TO 12 Graduates: Pursuing Dreams and Fostering Resilience in the face of
Adversity” is timely, relevant to each other’s lives and a powerful reminder to us that life is full of
surprises, challenges and mysteries but rest assured that you can overcome all of these with faith,
courage, determination, commitment, perseverance, resiliency and support of one another. Traverse the
