CHRONOLOGY TIMELINE
Start Tue. Nov. 29,2022 The Great Gatsby Magazine Project
Phase 1 Date: Nov.10,2022

Project is introduced. Students are organized
in groups of four. Students will decide which
area of interest to choose.
Phase 4 Date: Jan.11th
Third assembly: Students will continue to write
and decide the format they will use to put
together the magazine.
Phase 7 Date: Mon. Feb. 6 and Wed. Feb. 8th
Students will reconvene as a group and put their
articles together in their magazine. Students will
read each other´s articles and design a cover page
for their magazine that includes a title for their
publication and teasers for each one of the articles
featured. This should be done together.
End Date: Tue Feb.28/23 11A and 11B
Phase 2 Date: November 29,2022
First assembly: Students will research the
chosen areas of interest and will start
writing their first drafts.
Phase 5 Date: January 16th
Students will proofread their areas of interest
using the six traits of writing rubric.
Phase 8 Date: Mon. Feb. 13th and Tue Feb.15,2023
On this date the project is due, and we will hold a
gallery walk of your projects. Students should come
to class with a copy of their magazine. Students,
Teachers, and guests will take some time to look
through each group’s work.
Phase 3 Date: December 5th, 12th
Second assembly: Students will continue to work on
researching and writing their articles.
Phase 6 January 18, 19, 20
Students will turn in their final printed drafts
to be graded and proof read by the teacher.
Final Phase 9 Date: Mon. Feb.20th and
Wed. Feb.22,2023
After the gallery walk, students will write a
reflection that answers the question “What
made the 1920s roaring?”. The group’s
reflection should demonstrate what was
learned during the group’s research, as well
as what they learned from other groups’
magazines. Your group’s reflection paper
should be between 200 and 260 words.
The Individual oral Presentations will start
on: Mon. Feb.27,2023
