I used a walkthrough and informal observation process for teacher evaluation found in
the Ohio teacher evaluation system. This included a general form that highlighted specific
teaching elements that are not exhaustive but are likely to be encountered in a classroom
observation. These elements include things such as differentiation, communication strategies for
time, Information presented in multiple formats, Teacher has both collaborative and whole class
I set up an informal walkthrough ahead of time with two teachers and spent
approximately 10 minutes with each one. I made written observations using the general form
from the teacher evaluation system. Following each observation, I emailed the teacher with my
PSEL (Professional Standards for Educational Leaders) Standard 6 and Implications for
Future Practice’
I was able to deliver actionable feedback about the instruction I experienced as well as
other professional practices through a valid teacher evaluation system that involved supervision
and evaluation that supports the development of teachers’ knowledge, skills, and practice
As I experienced each of the observations, I believe that they each carried out an
adjustment for my future professional dispositions because I felt as though I was experiencing
the process with them. I was a learning partner in the classroom experience. My feedback for the

teachers easily invited further conversations that will enrich our collegial friendships while also
