HEALTH INFORMATION IN BARANGGGAY

ABSTRACT
Health information system is
a system whereby health data are recorded,
stored, retrieved and processed to improve
organization. Data quality should be
recorded and monitored routinely as
production of high quality statistics
depends on assessment of data quality and
actions taken to improve it. Thus, this study
assessed how Health information system
can help to lessen the time consumed in
manual process..
I. INTRODUCTION
In the course of time, the
number of patients has increased and
a variety of medical cases have
arisen that necessitated using
computer-based systems to manage
patient information.
A barangay health center is
community-based and offers first aid,
maternal and child health care,
communicable diseases and other
health services to all members of the
community. They need to be fully
entertained and offered as much
quality service as possible. Research
defined services as those that result

from relating human or mechanical
efforts to people or things. The
transactions are carried out manually
by the midwife in charge in the
barangay health station.
Furthermore, this kind of
manual process cause a delay of
consultation or records disorganized
It may a reason in providing
poor services.
In this modern day, health
centers also need to improve the
quality of service through upgrading
the system use for patients’
information. It can help in many
ways like; It facilitates the
organization and monitoring of
medical records in every barangay
and reduces the time spent on
consultations between health workers
and midwives. This study shows the
connections or importance of having
Health Care System for every
barangay in managing patients
information.
II. REVIEW RELATED
LITERATURE
Health care management
system is already widely used in
different country international
and some in local. The healthcare
system plays a vital role in
society because it provides an
organized plan of health services
to those who need them. As
defined by Mosadeghard (2013),
healthcare is the consistency in
providing efficacious, effective,
and efficient healthcare services
in relation to the latest clinical
guidelines and standards, which
meet the patients’needs and
adequately meet the providers’
needs as well. Like all systems,
the healthcare system would not
function well if not for its
workforce, the healthcare
workers. According to the World
Health Organization (2006),
healthcare workers are people
whose responsibility is to
improve and enhance the health
of the people within their
communities. BHWs have now
existed in the Philippines for
almost four decades and have
often been commended in
evaluations of local health
systems and community
participation [6, 10, 11]. Yet, we
lack a good understanding of
what motivates and sustains their
involvement on a largely
voluntary basis. This
understanding is crucial as the
programme’s continued success
and sustainability relies on its
ability to motivate and mobilise
community members to act as
peer health advocates –Health
care management system is

III. METHOD
A diagram representing the
proposed procedure is shown in
figure 1 below. This figure
illustrates how the model was
constructed through research.

Following the research
gathering in Figure 1. Above
shows how the entity connects by
relationships and attributes of
data. Determining the entity and
it’s primary key of the Patients
I.D and Consultant information.
First we get the Patients
Information; patient_I.D,
patients_name, patient_age and
the foreign key; patient_contact
information, we include it’s
address and contacts and the
same time the information of
consultant, it’s name and age as
the primary key. We label the
Consultant information, Contact,
Address and Patient information
as one to many. Consultant
Information need the Patients
data provided by the Illness
Information_ID(findings&descri
ption) . If the consultant
determine the illness of patient it
proceeds to medicine I.D which
is the medicine name, description
and quality. The other primary
key is Transaction History the
only primary key in it is the
history I.D.
We look for complete
patients information through
conducting research of our
chosen location.
IV. RESULTS
In Figure 1 shows the
complete ERD of Health
Information in Baranggay Baan
Km. 3. It became clear how the
entities connected and organize
as the table shows above. We
asked for Data in Baranggay
Health Workers she gave us the
complete information of patients.
V. DISCUSSION
