INSIGHT PAPER ON THE MOVIE MINIMALISM

Ever since I was a child, I’ve been dreaming of spending my money for the things I
didn’t have as a kid. We’re poor, we just have enough to survive the day, pay bills, food and
other necessary things. To buy something not needed is a symbol that you have spare
money to spend. I don’t really know the feeling of being wealthy, so maybe in the future if I
will be successful in reaching my dreams, I want to first experience it before deciding if I will
be a minimalist or not. At first I don’t really enjoy online shopping and I don’t plan to learn
how because I might spend money more than necessary. But I got a puppy for my birthday,
his name is Hiiro. I bought him lots of stuff because I know that it’s quite sensitive to take
care of. I wasn’t spending money for myself, I do it for Hiiro. And I’ll admit it is quite pricey.
Oh I forgot! The first thing I bought online was SB19 merchandise, lightsticks, photocards, CD,
and many more just because I love the group and I want to support them in any way. For
now it was placed in my bedroom. I can’t use them because of this pandemic. I don’t want
anything to get rid off, maybe the clothes I don’t wear so much. I don’t have that much
things because my family is minimalist, but not quite tho, it’s just we don’t have that money
to spend on useless things. We grew up in a household that one should buy something that
is necessary, so we don’t spend much. What I don’t like about being minimalist is they think
they are better to those who are not like them, for me it is a choice, many people have
different circumstances, they have their own reason why they spend so much. But other
than that, there are plenty of benefits of being a minimalist. For example is you can save
more money, you won’t be greedy to have everything, it is good to be contented on what
you have. Do I see myself living this way? I still don’t know. I’m doing my best in life not just
for myself, it’s for my family. I want them to experience a wealthy life, where they can buy
anything they want. We already lived a simple life, maybe we just crave for something more.
