MAMMOET – CRANE LOCATION DE-RISKING, DUBAI EYE PROJECT, BLUEWATERS ISLAND, U.A.E

A stability study was done to assess rigging
feasibility for Mammoet Circular Crane
(3,200Tons) to support assembly of a 210
meter Ferry Wheel. The project involved
several challenges including the size and
requirement of the crane proposed for
rigging, the proximity of reclamation edge
near the revetment due to mobilisation from
the sea.

■ Review of site condition and project
requirements.
■ Effective site characterization with CPT
data acquisition.
■ Ground modeling including revetment
condition assessment.
■ Use of Finite Element modeling to verify
stability of the leg support and crane

■ Check on safety factor and effect on the
revetment and recommendation.
