    1) Combine the two simple sentences into one compound sentence in two different
    ways.

    She didn’t bother to bring an umbrella with her. She ended up getting soaked.

    ex.She didn't bother to bring an umbrella with her, and she ended up getting soaked.

    ex.She didn't bother to bring an umbrella with her; as a result, she ended up getting soaked.

    Working from home is very convenient for employees. It is not practical for many companies.

    2) Add an independent clause to each of the following simple sentences to make a


    new compound sentence. Do not change the clauses below; simply add a clause
    either at the end or at the beginning. You will need to add proper punctuation and/or
    linking words. Try to use a variety of the three options for making compound
    sentences.
