Work Immersion Teacher

I have my own definition of work immersion, work immersion is putting yourself into
the shoes of adults who work and it is for us students to experience the reality and the
feeling of working in the actual workplace. There are many perks on engaging in work
immersion, it serve as our guide and will act as our starting line in our way to the work
environment, it is also for us develop our socializing skills and boost our self confidence
in order for us to used to the situations and things to expect in the workplace. I believe
that work immersion will set and create an ideal working environment, teach us about
work safety, provide us better understanding about actual work. I know that in every
experience and new encounter that we made we learn a valuable lessons and we can
apply those lessons in our everyday life as a student and soon to be a working adult.

Account of learnings:
In this week l learned to create my work immersion portfolio. At first it
thought that it was difficult and complicated but as soon as I started
everything seems to be sorted and organized, I finish the half of my
portfolio in this week and it’s a big relief for me. In this week I also learned
that you will not find out what it looks like to do something if you’re not
going to do it by yourself, so the lesson I learned this week Is that we
should not make things complicated by just thinking of it we must act
because we will never learn unless we experience it just like in work we
think that working is very hard but why there are people who enjoy
working? We just have to explore to ourselves in order for us to get used
to it and experience it by ourselves.

Achievements:
In this week I achieve one of my goal and that is finish half of my work
immersion portfolio also to learn how operate the WPS software.

Issues Faced and Corresponding Resolution:

The issues that I have faced while doing my work immersion portfolio is
the lack of free time, I was busy the whole week for several reasons but
then I realized that I have to set priorities and finally able to manage and
taught myself to have a proper time management.

Account of learnings: In this week I finished my work immersion portfolio
and I learned a lot throughout the process of making this immersion
portfolio, I learned about the proper time management, self control, focus,
and most of all I learned many thing about immersion like the proper
manners and etiquette when you’re in the work place, also I have learned
about advantages of participating in work immersion and how work
immersion will help and prepare us for our future.

Achievements:
This week I finished my work immersion portfolio and also learned to be
patience and trust the process.

Issues Faced and Corresponding Resolution:

The issue that I have faced during this week’s activity will be the software
problem my WPS had a bug in which my files are lost, but I had an idea that
time I logged in using my phone in WPS app to recover my documents.

 How to conduct oneself inside the company/business
establishments during the work immersion?

When we’re in a company, establishments, or workplace we have to remember

few things and etiquette, we have to be respectful, When interacting with your
colleagues, it’s important to remember where we are. For example
swearing, Swearing is a big no, so is making rude or inappropriate comments.
Of course it is general rule everywhere,if you wouldn’t say it in front of your
parents, well you probably shouldn’t say it at work. Next thing to remember
being on time or be punctual, Good timekeeping and attendance is essential. If
you think you are going to be late, make sure to keep your manager informed,
try to give them an expected time of arrival if you can. Similarly, it’s important to
adhere to break and lunch times, don’t take longer than your allotted lunch
break because poor punctuality may lead to your downfall. The next one is
important as trait that an employee had, Be honest, Because honesty will
always be the best policy. It is also one of the key to success so always be
honest even if others are not, it will also give you a good reputation inside the
workplace as well as outside world and always remember to be honest
wherever you go. Next one is being flexible, You should always be willing to
change or to learn even if it’s already out from your comfort zone for you to
learn how to work with your surroundings and co-workers. Next one will be
observing good manners and right conduct, Always keep in mind that you are
not just bringing your name, but also you’re bringing the name of your school
and the name of your family. So make sure you possess formality, act according
to your level, pay careful attention to your office etiquette and make sure your
behavior is in line with expectations because having good manners and good
conduct is better than having good skills without manners. And those are the
things you need to know and remember when you’re in a workplace, also in my
opinion that’s how you conduct oneself in a working environment.
 My personal vision and goals for the future
My personal vision and goals for the future?

I have never thought of anything but my future when I was a kid like “ I want to
be like him (my uncle), he draw houses and he’s good at drawing” but I never
thought the steps I need to take in order for me to achieve my goal or dream. As
soon a I grew up I realized that in everything we do, in everything we dreamed
of we have to make a move, we have to take the steps and process of achieving
it. Today I set my goals accurately my goals are nor so far from my reach but its
also not so easy to be done.I set mind to achieve my goal in which to become a
licensed Architect but before I can achieve that I have to set a plan or vision my
way through success. First I have to finish my studies in High school after that I
need to pass the entrance exam for my desired university after I got qualified
for the university that I want. For me to be able to achieve my goals I have to
make adjustments that will soon help me in my future occupation or career,
these adjustments are related to my behavior, traits and personalities.

My goals for the following years is to finish college and have a stable job or
position in a architecture company as well as to have a peaceful life and to have
my own car and house where I can rest peacefully. Therefore I will now
motivate my self to be productive and I will now eliminate my negative traits and
behavior like being lazy, having a very short temper, being impatient and lack of
time management. These will enable me to fit in to the environment that soon I
will work. Also I’m planning to clear my mind before going to the next step it is
because I must be at peace and nothing is bothering me psychologically to keep
my focus on my goals because if there are things that are bothering you can’t
think well for the next step that you’re going to make. Furthermore for the
achieving of my goals I will work hard and strive even harder when I get to
college because I believe in saying “no pain no gain” without hardship and
challenges there will be no sense of success that I why I’m making a move right
now and keep on planning and visioning my next set of steps towards to my
goals and success.

My Reflection

My reflection about the work immersion subject? Well for me work immersion
as a subject helps gives me the insight on what to expect when you finally work.

This subject gives information and knowledge that I can apply to my work when I
finished college, work immersion also helps me to prepare myself for the future
and it gives me the understanding about work, when I was a kid I thought that
work is just a thing to earn money I don’t know a single thing about work but
now I have enough knowledge about the right things to do while you’re at your
workplace. I have learned a lot with this subject even though most of my
months studying is in modular way I still learned something with this subjects
like how would proper work behavior and etiquette affects your work
surroundings as well as your image, these learning help me to be prepared for
my future and also for me to adjust my attitude, personality, trait, and behavior.

This subject is also fun because you have the opportunity to engage yourself in
actual workplace it will serve as your training and it will give you the idea on
what to expect on the actual workplace, I also learned from this subject that you
have to be willing to work with your colleagues or coworkers to form a strong
team inside the company.

Overall work immersion as a subject is a fun subject and taught me many things
about work, work environment, work ethics, work etiquette, and work rules that
will soon help me on my future work and career to be a good and productive
worker.
