1. Environment Philosophy - is the discipline in philosophy that studies the moral relationship
between human beings and nature, as well as the value and moral status of the environment
and its non-human contents.

Examples: conservation and restoration, environmental justice and environmental racism, ecofeminism,
climate change, green political theory, the ethics of technology, and environmental activism.

2. Environment Aesthetics - originated as a reaction to this emphasis, pursuing instead the

investigation of the aesthetic appreciation of natural environments. Since its early stages, the scope of
environmental aesthetics has broadened to include not simply natural environments but also human and
human-influenced ones.
Examples: aesthetic appreciation of natural environments of works of art situated in nature, landscape
paintings that are of or about nature, of works of art that take nature as their medium
3. Sustainable Development - Implies the enhancement of the well-being of all peoples always by
providing a world fit for human habitation. It is about meeting the diverse needs of different communities
to create a better quality of life and future for all.
Examples: Wind Energy, Solar Energy, Crop Rotation, Water efficient fixtures, Green Spaces

4. Theories in Radical Ecological Philosophy - Initial attempts to constitute this new ecological subject
exist in the radical ecology movement, examined here through three primary branches of the radicalized
environmental movement:

 Deep ecology - an environmental movement and philosophy which regards human life as just
one of many equal components of a global ecosystem .
 Social ecology - is the study of how individuals interact with and respond to the environment
around them, and how these interactions affect society and the environment as a whole.
 Ecofeminism - also called ecological feminism, branch of feminism that examines the
connections between women and nature.
5. Prudence & Frugality – Prudence the ability to govern and discipline oneself by the use of reason.
While frugality, is the quality or state of being frugal, careful management of material resources and
especially money. Prudence is the other virtue that plays a role in frugality, although strictly speaking it
plays the same role in all virtues: “all virtue is necessarily prudent”. Prudence is the virtue that aligns
every action with reason. It therefore concerns the means to achieve ends.

Example of Prudency: Example of Frugality:

Creating a to-do list to save time in my studying 1. Saving money from my school allowance.
