    The Nassau class was a group of four monster battleships erected for the Homeric German Navy in themid-

    1900s. The class comprised Nassau, Rheinland( pictured), Posen, and Westfalen. All four were laid down
    inmid-1907, and completed by late 1910. The battleships espoused a main battery of twelve 28 cm( 11 in)
    ordnance in six binary- gun turrets. The vessels served as II Division, I Battle Squadron of the High Swell
    Fleet for the duration of their careers. From 1910 to 1914, they shared in squadron exercises, training sails,
    and line pushes. During World War I, the vessels took part in operations intended to insulate and destroy
    corridor of the numerically superior British Grand Fleet.
