1. Scope of Specification
This specification provides a design guide for DURASTEEL® blast doors as follows:
1.1 DURAFLUSH, DURACHECK and H60 single leaf door sets up to a maximum leaf size of 2.6m x 1.0m.
1.2 H60 twin leaf door sets up to a maximum size of 2.6m x 1.0m per leaf.
The historical names given to the blast door types, i.e. DURAFLUSH, DURACHECK and H60, only indicates the general construction style on
which the design has based and should NOT to be taken as meaning that the standard door construction will provide blast resistance.
Doors of larger size than that indicated above should be referred to Intumex Asia Pacific Technical Department.

2. Blast Door Pressure Ratings

Based on the information obtained from full scale explosion testing carried out at BRE Cardington and detailed in test report no. TCR 112/95,
tables of blast pressure versus door size has been developed for each type of door. These are highlighted in the following Sections 2.1 and
2.4.
The full theory and calculations which form the basis of these tables if fully detained within Appendixes A to F. The information within the
Appendixes is provided as a qualification for the design of our full range of blast resistant doors and as such may be submitted the client to
justify the door design, if requested.
THE CLIENT SHOULD BE MADE AWARE THAT HE/SHE MUST BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS/HER OWN STRUCTURES ADEQUACY TO RECEIVE AND
SAFELY TRANSMIT THE FORCES PRODUCED BY OUT DOORS DURING AN EXPLOSION.
