The given chart illustrates the process of converting the potential energy of water into electricity in

a power station

The process has three main parts : the high level dam to store the water from the river, the power
station to make electricity and the low level resevoir

Firstly the water from the river from the upper level is stored at night when the dam is closed and
flows again when it is opened. Then the water goes along the steep pipe system down the generator to
create currents during daytime and proceed uphill into the upper dam when night comes.Next, in the
power staion the flow of water operates the generator , allows it to spin and produce energy . During
nightime the water is pumped back to the dam by the reversable turbine. After that the water used to
generated electricity ends up in the low-level dam and it is pumped back to the dam on the high ground
at the end of the day . Finallythe created electricity is transfered to national grid by power cables
