delivered to the national grid.

Looking at the picture in more detail, in the first step, water in a high-level reservoir is collected in the
river and blocked by the dam. During the day, intake is opened which allows water to flow to the
reversible turbines in order to generate electricity. After flowing through the turbines, water is stored in
a low-level reservoir. When the turbines spin, the generators start to produce energy. Electricity is
released to the national grid through the power lines.

Regard as the process at night, water from the low-level lake is pumped back into the high-level-cistern
by the turbines. Intake is also closed to store water for the following day using.
