Plan of Investigation
My group’s topic for the English ‘A’ SBA is ‘Social Media’, however, I will be focusing on ‘How to use social
media as a marketing tool’. I would have chosen this topic after observing that social media can be use to
generate marketing sales for businesses around the world in this present day.
As an English student this research will help me to widen my vocabulary, strengthen my researching skills,
analytical skills, persuasive skills, comprehension skills and I will be able to use my English language orally
and fluently
These skills will be using in my reflections and oral presentation as it will help to enhance the quality of work.
In order to complete my other required tasks of this research, I plan to utilize the internet as it will a vast
amount of information in the form of vidoes, articles and poems.

Reflections
Entry 1
The first artifact entitled ‘Social media drives 16% sales increase’ poem written by Katherine Cowdrey and
Natasha Onweumezi, this poems showed how social media can advertise a person’s content all over the world
for persons to patronize and help small businesses to grow.
The second artifact entitled ‘What is Social Media Marketing in 5 minutes’ video published by John Adams,
this artifact thought me about the ways social media got upgraded and the features added from before time to
the present day which also changes its uses. It also thought me the skills and training to get a great perfect social
media marketing.
The third artifact entitled “How to use social media as a marketing tool” by Chris Blood Rojas after reading the
full article, it gave me the knowledge on the steps to use social media to facilitate a good income and procedure
that is put in place to become a successful social media marketer.

Entry 2
In the artifact, ‘Social media drives 16% sales increase’ a poem written by two (2) authors who wants to
persuade young women to engage in genuine and empowerment of becoming a independent person by writing
poems and advertise using social media platform. The main language technique the authors used was writing
skills which explained to people how social media sold person content all over the World Wide Web.
In the artifact, “What is social media marketing in 5 minutes ” a video published with the purpose to define the
steps of marketing using social media, the language used by was formal English. The video publisher used
demonstrative phrases which entail the full levels in acquiring a good marketing using social media platforms
and also he also use comparison techniques which highlighted the main message he was trying to share, which
was helpful for persons who wants to use social media as a marketing tool.
In the artifact “How to use social media as a marketing tool” an article which purpose was to explain to
inviduals the uses, reason and benefit of social media. The main language techniques use by the writer was
reasoning skills. The writer uses this skill to clearly explain to the reader how his/her should design their
product so the market could target the right customers in order for the products to sell.

Entry 3
In this English SBA I can proudly say that I can fully explain to person, how social media can be used as a
marketing tool. While researching on my sub topic online it has helped me in my researching skills
academically. Workings with my group members enhanced my ability in sharing my knowledge and opinion on
‘Social Media’. This group work was very beneficial towards my other subject areas which helped me in having
the task finished in all the time given. All the group members cope with the challenges faced since all of us
were able to assist each other in task given, by doing the SBA helped me to grow my reasoning skills so that it
will never be hard for me to work with time frame. I was able to evaluate large amount of information and
picking out the main point, this boost my summary skills.

A pleasant greeting to each and every one of you. My name is Shankar Cyril and I’m currently a member of the
English ‘A’ SCHOOL BASED ASSESSMENT group. Our group selected ‘Social Media’ as our topic.
However, I would have selected ‘How to use social media as a marketing tool’ as my sub-topic. After gathering
all my research information from the internet which entailed reading poem and articles, and watching videos
related to my sub topic, I would have gained a better knowledge in understanding the content. I’m here today to
discuss the key ideas or information or I should say the general points on ‘How to use Social Media as a
marketing tool’
We all in this day use the internet somehow or the other, whether to search for information, to surf the media
platforms or to shop using the internet. We all may have come across a brand or brands that advertised their
product via internet. Have you ever asked yourself, ‘Why are they using the internet to do this? ‘Why can’t they
advertise somewhere else for example pasting posters up and sharing out flyers as accustomed’ or ‘Don’t these
retailers know that Facebook is a media platform to post entertaining pictures and videos only. The reason for
this is because social media can advertise a business’s content all over the world for consumers like us to
become engaged in products offered and be supportive to help businesses to grow because the internet is a
world wide web that has access to billions of users that helps business owners and employees to target the right
customers to facilitate a good profit. Social media helps businesses to attract customers, to receive customers’
feedback and build customer loyalty. Also, social media boost marketing sales because the number of persons
using social media increases everyday likewise social sales tool evolve, social network became increasingly
important for product search and ecommerce because these businesses, when advertising online, have the
awareness that customers will have more demand for their product since the product purchasing is innovative.
Let me give this scenario, take a look back at the year of 2014, advertising online back then wasn’t successful or
many business owners did not use it to advertise due to the fact that the internet was not popular neither
demanding. The internet would have changed over a period of time likewise people, this is because every aspect
in shopping can be done using the internet. This would have changed or came in being a popular thing due to
the Covid 19 pandemic and higher technology because during these time persons can use the internet to
purchase all essential commodities, and pay bills and wouldn’t have the cause to leave their home. New
business owners have to now have the ability to interact that if they choose to have their business advertise via
internet, they would have to design their product so that it could target the right customers.
As a new social media marketer, how could you do marketing on social media?
