Statement of Inquiry:
Individuals and organizations have specific rights and
responsibilities in creating a civic society.

Summative Assessment Task:


In the unit of Government and Me, we have explored the structure and functions of Indian
government in detail. Similarly, in this summative task you will do a case study on another country
with a different type of government (as given in the list below):

Parliamentary Democracy
Direct Democracy
Theocracy
Monarchy

Assessment Criteria: A i, ii, B iii, B iv, C ii, D iii, Div

Guidelines:
Step 1: Choose a country from the list given below:
Parliamentary Democracy (Denmark)
Direct Democracy (Switzerland)
Theocracy (Iran)
Monarchy (Sultanate of Oman)

Step 2: Create a mind map of what topics you want to focus upon.

Step 3: Research the structure and functions of its government in depth.


Develop a set of 3-5 guiding questions to help direct your research.
Following are some suggested guiding questions:

● Do the people play a role in the government? If yes, how?
● How does this form of government affect people’s lives?
● Who were the significant individuals associated with this form of government?
● What are some successes and failures of this type of government?

should contain only the summary of your research. Your PPT must not exceed 10 slides (excluding
the introduction and conclusion slide).
