※ 2014학년도 이후 신입생은 인천 국제캠퍼스에서 1학년(1학년 1학기 및 2학기) 동안
Residential College(기숙사 생활 의무) 교육을 이수하는 것을 원칙으로 합니다(코로나-19
로 인하여 변경될 수 있음).

2. 지원자격
대한민국 정부 초청 외국인 장학생으로서 국외 정규고등학교 졸업자 또는 초중등교육
법시행령 제98조에 의거하여 이와 동등한 학력이 있다고 인정되는 자

☞ 지원자격 관련 유의사항
○ 부모가 모두 외국인인 외국인이어야 합니다.
○ 지원자와 부모 중 한 명이라도 한국국적을 복수국적으로 소지한 자는 해당전형
으로 지원할 수 없습니다.
○ 학생이 우리나라 고교과정에 상응하는 교육과정을 시작하기 전에 지원자 및 부
모 모두가 외국국적을 취득한 경우만 외국인으로 인정합니다.
○ 초·중·고교 수학기간은 한국 학제를 기준으로 하는 것을 원칙으로 합니다. (해
외 교육과정의 1학년부터 6학년까지는 초등학교로, 7학년에서 9학년까지는 중
학교로, 10학년에서 12학년까지는 고등학교로 봅니다.)

 ☞ 모집단위 관련 유의사항
○ 제1지망 모집단위와 제2지망 모집단위를 선택할 수 있습니다.
○ 교육인증 현황
- 경영대학 경영학과는 ‘한국경영교육인증원’, ‘AACSB(미국)’, ‘EQUIS(유럽)’으로부터
교육인증을 받음
- 간호대학 간호학과는 ‘한국간호교육평가원’으로부터 교육인증을 받음
○ 간호학과는 3월 입학만 가능하며, 지원 시 TOPIK 5급 이상 기준을 충족해야
합니다.
○ 글로벌인재대학 입학자는 입학 이후 글로벌인재대학 내에서 전공을 자유롭게 선
택할 수 있습니다.
- 글로벌인재대학은 국제무대에서 한국적 가치를 확산하고 공유할 수 있는 글로벌 인
재, 문화적 차이를 이해하고 문화 간 소통 활성화에 기여할 수 있는 전인적 인재,
학문 간 연계와 융합을 통해 미래사회 핵심가치 창출에 기여할 수 있는 융복합 창의
인재 양성을 목표로 합니다. 현재 학부 내 5개 전공(국제통상전공, 한국언어문화교육
전공, 문화미디어전공, 바이오생활공학전공, 응용정보공학전공)을 운영하고 있으며 소
속 학생들은 복수전공 및 부전공을 통해 2개 이상의 전공을 자유롭게 공부할 수 있
습니다.

4. 전형 방법
가. 고등학교 성적, 자기소개서, 수상경력, 자격증, 한국어수학대학평가서 등 지원자가
제출한 서류를 종합적으로 평가하여 합격자를 선발하며 지원자에게 확인할 내용이
있을 경우 면접을 실시할 수 있습니다.
나. 1지망 대학으로 연세대학교를 선택한 지원자를 우선 선발합니다.

나. 서류 제출 시 유의사항
1) 제출서류 상의 이름이나 생년월일이 각각 다른 경우에는 동일인임을 증명하는
증명서를 첨부해야 합니다.
2) 한국어나 영어로 작성되지 않은 서류는 반드시 공증 받은 한글(영어)번역서를
첨부하여 제출해야 합니다.
3) 자기소개서는 서식에 맞게 한국어나 영어로 지원자가 스스로 작성해야 하며 표
절 의혹 이 있는 경우 서류평가에서 감점하거나 최하 점수를 부여할 수 있습
니다.
4) 합격 여부를 이메일로 안내하므로 원서 접수 시 이메일 주소를 정확하게 입력
 해야 합니다.
5) 전형 요강에 정해진 날짜까지 연세대학교가 요구하는 서류를 제출하지 못 할
경우 불합격 처리합니다.

7. 한국어능력 관련 안내
가. 국립국제교육원의 지침에 따라, 합격 이후 6~12개월 동안 한국어연수과정을 이수
합니다.
나. 2024년 2월 말 기준 TOPIK 3급(단, 간호학과 제외) 기준을 충족하지 못할 경우
입학 취소(또는 국립국제교육원 지침에 따라 유예)합니다.
다. 간호학과의 경우 최초 지원 시 TOPIK 5급을 보유해야 하며, 한국어 연수과정 없
이 2023년 3월 학부에 진학해야 합니다.

8. 글로벌기초교육학부 (Global Basic Education Division)

가. 외국인 학생 여러분의 대학생활 적응을 돕고 전공학습 능력 배양을 위하여 연세대에 입학하
는 외국인 학생들은 1년간 글로벌인재대학 산하 글로벌기초교육학부에 소속되어 지내게 됩
니다. 글로벌기초교육학부는 외국인 학생 여러분에게 필요한 대학 기초 교양능력과 대학 전
공 학업에 필요한 전문적인 한국어 능력을 향상시킬 수 있도록 집중적으로 지도할 예정입니
다(간호학과 제외).
나. 합격자가 제출한 국립국제교육원 한국어능력시험(TOPIK) 또는 연세대학교 한국어학당 수료
증명 급수에 따라 한국어 교육을 이수하게 됩니다. 원활한 대학 교육과정 수학을 위하여 입
학 전까지 한국어능력을 최대한 향상시키는 것이 필요합니다.

I. About Yonsei
Yonsei University, located in the heart of Seoul, is one of the most prestigious
universities in Korea and it is also well known as the most globalized university.
Since its establishment in 1885, Yonsei has been a leader in international education in
Asia and has established cooperative relationships with distinguished institutions around
the world. Our university has been active in exchanges with 729 higher education
institutions in 78 countries around the world. As of 2022, 4,959 international students
are enrolled in our university. Due to such international exchanges, Yonsei University
ranked 73rd in the 2023 QS world's university rankings and was evaluated as a superior
private university. Yonsei University offers a variety of international educational
curriculums including international summer school, semester/year abroad program,
short-term exchange programs, and Korean Language Institute. Moreover, Yonsei

2. Eligibility for Requirements

Applicants must graduate from the high school or the equivalent as recognized
by Article 98 of ENFORCEMENT DECREE OF THE ELEMENTARY AND
SECONDARY EDUCATION ACT.

☞ Important Notes on Eligibility for Application

○ Applicants and both their parents must hold non-Korean nationality.
○ If the applicant or any one of the applicant’s parents have dual citizenship,
one being Korean, the applicant is not eligible for this track.
○ Only both parents and applicant who have acquired foreign citizenships before they
started their high schools or the equivalent are eligible for this track.
○ Total years of education will be counted based on the Korean educational
system. [Overseas education years will be counted as follows: From Grade 1
to 6 to be elementary school, from Grade 7 to 9 to be middle school, from
Grade 10 to 12 to be high school]
○ After completing the application or getting admitted to the university,
applicants are not allowed to change their major.

☞ Important Notes
○ Applicants may choose the 1st and 2nd preferred major but it must be
separated.
○ Current Accreditation by College and Department:
- College of Business: Department of Business Administration has been certified
with KABEA(Korean Association of Business Education Accreditation),
AACSB(Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International)
and EQUIS(the European Quality Improvement System)
- College of Nursing: Department of Nursing has been certified with
KABONE(Korean Accreditation Board of Nursing Education).
○ Applicants of College of Nursing can only be applicable for Spring semester
and be accepted with TOPIK level 5 or above.
○ Global Leaders College students are free to choose their majors after
admission in Global Leaders College.
- Global Leaders College aims to foster global leaders who can spread
and share Korean values on the international stage, who can understand
cultural differences and contribute to promoting communication between
cultures, and creative convergent leaders to create core values in future
society through interdisciplinary integration and convergence. Currently,
the department operates five majors (International Commerce, Korean
Language and Culture Education, Culture & Media, Bio & Living
Engineering, and Applied Information Engineering), and students can
freely study two or more majors through multiple and minor majors.

4. Evaluation Criteria
A. Yonsei University makes a comprehensive evaluation of each applicant
based on his or her academic achievements and potential, as well as
non-academic accomplishments. High school transcripts, personal statements,
scores of standardized tests, awards, certificates/licenses, scores of language
proficiency tests, and high school profiles are representative elements used
for the evaluation of appliant’s qualifications. If any information needs to
be confirmed by the applicant, an interview can be conducted.
B. Applicants who apply for Yonsei University as their first choice may be
prioritized in the evaluation process.

1) Applicants must submit any official certificate to prove their birth date
and name if there is any discordance in documents.
2) Documents which are not in Korean or English should be translated and
notarized in Korean or English.
3) Applicants must write a self-introduction by him/herself and may get a
big disadvantage if there is any plagiarism.
4) Please confirm the contact information such as email address.
5) If an applicant fail to submit the required documents by the deadline,
we will disqualify the applicant.

7. Korean Language Proficiency

A. According to the National Institute for International Education (NIIED)
guidelines, students who got accepted need to take the Korean language
course for 6 ~ 12 months.
B. If an applicant does not meet the TOPIK Level 3 (Except College of
Nursing) criteria as of February 2024, the applicant’s admission will be
canceled (or suspended in accordance with the guidelines of the NIIED).
C. Applicants of College of Nursing should have TOPIK level 5 or above
when they apply and start a degree course without taking a Korean
language course in March 2023.

8. Global Basic Education Division

A. All international students who have been admitted to the various
departments of the university will be expected to complete Korean
language and basic education courses at GBED during their first year.
GBED provides international students with basic liberal arts, basic math
and basic science courses to improve their academic skills before they
take their major classes. It also offers Korean classes so that they can
improve language skills for academic performances, adjust to college and
successfully complete their studies at Yonsei University. (Nursing major is
excluded)
B. Korean Language Education
GBED curriculum provides Korean language classes to foreign students in
accordance with the students’ Korean skills which are determined by the
Korean Language Proficiency Test or TOPIK. For a successful college
 curriculum achievement, it is necessarily encouraged for the students to
improve Korean language skills as much as possible before admission.
