Dear Sirs,

An experienced Captain and Senior DPO, over the past eleven years, as Master and Chief
Officer, I have undertaken charters and assignments worldwide for many leading companies in
the offshore oil sector. Additionally, my earlier career in tanker operations (seven years,
mainly as Second Officer and Chief Officer), has provided considerable experience.

My offshore experience encompasses offshore supply, dive support, construction and well
simulation, so I have a good understanding of the operation and management of a wide range
of offshore support vessels. I have a detailed understanding of the most widely used DP
systems.

My practical ship handling and management capabilities are of a high order – I have completed
over 1000 berthing in ports worldwide, frequently in difficult conditions – but this is
accompanied by a detailed understanding of the regulatory and compliance framework
governing this sector of the maritime industry. I am well versed in conducting DP trials,
capability analyses and verification, and of course, have conducted FMEA trials for a number of
the vessels I have commanded.

Along with this, I have undertaken numerous new vessel deliveries and subsequently prepared
vessels for sea including conducting all the necessary trials and inspections to obtain statutory
certification. Subsequently, I have completed the routine annual inspections, audits and
surveys including DP trials, OVID, CMID, on/off hire survey with consistent success.

Additionally, I have project management experience, having planned and overseen both dry
docks and complex conversions of various offshore support vessels to different types.
I hold an Unlimited Master’s Certificate, together with eleven years’ experience in the rank.
My knowledge of SMS is considerable, and I have a proven record of success in contributing to
the improvement of fleet wide safety procedures as a member Safety Management Review.
My role throughout has required excellent communications skills: verbal, in liaising with
charterers; inspectors/surveyors; dockyard contractors and with crew and corporate senior
management, also in writing to produce the numerous reports and audits my role requires.
Additionally, both my day-to-day work and the various projects I have overseen have required
the application of strong problem-solving capabilities, underpinned by excellent technical
knowledge, and understanding of this complex and hazardous working environment plus a
detailed appreciation of the operating and commercial priorities of the clients I have worked
with.
