Running head: Maria’s Personality Test

My personality type was ESFJ, which is extravert (1%), Sensing (31%),

Feeling (31%), and Judging (20%). After seen the results of this test, I agree to it

even-though I don’t like that judging part. I’m the Youth Leader of my church, and

dealing with the youth from ages around 13-25 have allowed to work with

different types of personalities, and situations. Dealing with young kids and young

adults, you must be a kind person, you must have some kind of sensitivity to be

able to listen, understand, refocus, and guide them according to each situation

individually. The bible says, “the Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the

Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up

the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the

prison to those who are bound…” (Isaiah 61:1, NIV). I am a very responsible

person, I don’t like excuses, so for me whenever a person has a responsibility of

doing something you must do whatever it takes to get it done unless is life or

death. “No is NOT an option”. So maybe because of this way of thinking, I might

be a little judging, for me; there is always a way to get things done. Which to be

honest, I was a little sad when I saw that (Judging %), because I don’t feel, or

categorize myself as a judging person at all, I’m always a kind, and understandable

person, which makes me think something just don’t make sense. Another thing I

noticed is that I don’t like unexpected surprises, good or bad or new changes. I

always want to be prepared for what is next.

My experience in taking this test was little confusing, but I believed is

because of language. There where times where I just needed to copy and paste

on google translate, because there are some words that I cant fully understand

what’s being ask. However, I felt it was very interesting taking this type of test.

The one thing that I noticed was, that there were questions that I would respond

in a different way than the choices given. I believe that test like this could be

responded in different ways, once you analyze the questions. The first, the way

you wish is the right answer. The second one, the actual way you thought at the

moment.

Honestly, out of all 4 (extrovert, sensing, feeling, and judging), the last one

is the one that got me the most, and It will all depend on what are they’re basing

things on. I have heard a lot from my family and friends that I can be very

negative, but for me is just thinking ahead “the what if” just so it wont be a

surprise to me. So definitely if that have to do with it, then most likely I need to

change because I can not be a judging person when I’m dealing with a lot of my

youth that sometimes take the wrong turn, or go through rough times base on

their poor decision making. I believed, that personality tests are a good idea,

however it can also be a bit confusing. They can show you a different personality

aspect about yourself that maybe you are not aware of. Thus, allowing you to

start working on what needs to be fixed or moderated.

This “human-metrics” test we took, even though is not. The official Myers-

Briggs Personality assessment, can be categorize as a “Self-Report Personality

Inventories” or an “Objective test”. According to Nevid, “Self-report personality

inventories are widely used measures of personality in which a person’s response

options are limited so as to make scoring them objective” (Nevid 2018, p. 435). I

have seen many of these test, for employers as a way to be hired. I do believed is

a way for them to be able to find the perfect match for the the job setting and

environments, but is definitely not a guarantee. Every individual is unique, I

believe these kinds of test could be of help but not 100% relevant. The Bible

states that we all are made in “his image” which is unique and perfect in our own

way. We all have different backgrounds, different life styles, different experiences

but we all have the same creator. We all have access to the “Holly Spirit” which is

who molds us, guide us, and give us strength, and wisdom. The Bible say, “I praise

you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul

knows it very well”.
