The Holiday Season is upon us and we want to wish all of our families a wonderful and restful Holiday season. We want to thank
our families students faculty and staff for participating in our monthly PTO meetings and the school s Fiscal Year FY 2024
Proposed Budget presentation in November. We appreciate your feedback and input as we continue to finalize our school s
budget. We also want to thank everyone for their cooperation and support as partners to ensure that all students have a safe
and productive learning environment. For the next several weeks our students will be practicing for the Holiday Program and
engage in classroom fun filled learning activities. We look forward to seeing our students perform during the Holiday Program.

Hello parents guardians
We have wrapped up our learning with our Creative Curriculum Ball study and are now moving onto the Road study. We ve have
noticed that your children get excited about playing with toy cars and trucks and spend time at school building roads out of blocks
while connecting it to people and buildings. They have become curious about the different types of roads they see where roads go
how roads connects us and the kinds of jobs that involve building and repairing roads. We think a study of roads will be a great
opportunity to for the children to explore their interest while incorporating it into Literacy Math Science Social Studies and Art
activities. At the end of our study we will have a special activity to show you what we ve learned.

Pre K Gate
It s that time of the year filled with lots of Holiday CHEER and
we cannot wait to have our families join us this month in the
classroom for our Holiday celebrations Our mini marlins LOVE
story time and this month we will be focusing on stories and
books. There are so many different holiday stories that we
cannot wait to read especially with our very own pre K
parents as guest readers but look out as we may even write
our very own class story as we learn the different parts of a
story characters setting plot sequence and more
It s not too late to sign up for a Craft or Game booth for our

Greetings Parents Guardians
First we want to thank you all for helping your child complete
their Thanksgiving turkey project. Our kindergarten teachers
were pleased to see the effort and creative disguises
submitted by students. Job well done

Season Greetings to you all As we get closer to the
end of the year now is the time for us all to reflect on
the triumphs and challenges you and your child have
experienced either in their personal and or academic
life. This year brought about many unique challenges

Tis the season to be building We are starting our next
big project this month. GATErs will be learning more
about force and gravity by building ramps and

faster and farther.

Greetings Parents Guardians
The ESL Program Team of MES would like to wish you joy
and cheer this holiday season and the very best of 2023
as it comes around the corner and emphasize the
importance of remaining steadfast at supporting your EL s
English language proficiency skills at home. We are
committed to ensuring that this occurs at the school level
as well particularly with regard to academic language that
can often be confusing for young learners in general. For
example we know that complex content terminology for
mathematics such as parallel fraction factor exponent or
sum is usually misunderstood. Just as challenging are
science related terms like Photosynthesis Nucleus or
Atmosphere. One of our program objectives is to focus on
building an understanding and the appropriate application
of such complex vocabulary which are not used often by
ELs when communicating with peers especially during
common social interactions at the playground or

academic and social skills as a result of the COVID 19
pandemic we are working diligently at narrowing this gap

holidays try to commit to this effort as well by turning off
the television the laptop and all hand held electronic
devices that your EL accesses regularly and instead have
them read short story books and have meaningful
conversations with native English speakers. Small
changes in routines can lead to huge academic successes

on improving social skills attending skills and
communication skills. In addition to improving
functional living skills our students are also working
