OIL POLLUTION PREVENTION STATION

Seven short blast plus one long blast on ships whistle and general alarm followed by announcement
at public address system of “Oil pollution! Oil pollution! Oil pollution!” 3 times.

4TH ENGR. GROUP
Collect and clean up discharge oil on board
Provide and saw dust, brooms, pans and oil absorbent mats for cleaning
D/CADET-1 up oil spill
D/CADET-2 Collect and clean-up discharge oil on board

MESSMAN Collect and clean-up discharge oil on board


C/COOK Collect and clean-up discharge oil on board

Command oil collecting group and communicate with transceiver. Prepare


2ND ENGR. to launch boat if necessary for collecting discharge oil in the water.

A/B-2 COLLECTING Assist 2nd engineer for launching the boat and to maneuver
GROUP Provide empty drums, pails, bailers and absorbent mats for minimizing
OILER-2 spread of oil in the water

OILER-3 Scatter oil absorbent and collect discharge oil

C/ENGR. Command engine group and communicate with transceiver

ENGINE Communicate with bridge team and keep records of events. Operate
3RD ENGR. valves and pumps as per engineer order

must be started immediately after the incident and regular soundings shall be taken thereafter.

*When boat station is ordered, each person shall assemble at the specified muster station, suitably dressed is
thick clothes with lifejackets and helmets and carrying specified equipment.
*The operation for abandoning ship’s shall not be started until the Master’s order “Abandonship”
*Duties for a liferaft shall be the same for lifeboat
FIRE STATION
