Learning Activity Sheet

Chapter 6: Perpetuation of Life
PERFORMANCE TASK 1
Aside from having the need to take in food, eliminate waste materials or respond
to various stimuli. The process of growth and development are essential characteristics of
living organism, physical and sexual maturity are preparations for the reproduction
process. All living organisms are part of the “circle of life”. Thus, in order to participate in
this non-ending cycle, each species of plants or animals must perform the vital function of
securing a population of younger members of their kind. They have two means: asexual
reproduction or sexual reproduction. Below are the objectives for the activity:
1. Describe the different ways of how plant reproduces
2. Illustrate the relationships among structures of flowers, fruits and seeds
3. Describe the different processes of asexual and sexual reproduction in
representative animals.
4. Explain the adaptations necessary from organisms to reproduce in different
environments.
5. To be able to compare and contrast the human male and human female
reproductive systems.
