29. Dwell on the teenage leisure in the UK and Ukraine.

Teenagers in the UK enjoy various indoor and outdoor activities.


Playing computer games ranks the first place in the list of the favourite activities among
the teenagers. The second most common leisure activity in the UK is watching television.
Many television programmes are about wildlife, animals, holidays, cooking and gardening.
Teenagers watch TV before and after school.
Visiting or entertaining friends or relatives and going to the cinema are also very popular
activities in Britain.
Teenagers go to McDonalds or King’s Burger at least once a week. Sometimes they have
a pizza delivered to their houses or go to a restaurant with their family at the weekend.
Sports and physical recreation have always been popular. Local governments provide
cheap sport and leisure facilities such as swimming pools, tennis courts, parks and golf
courses. People go to watch other people play sports like football or take part in sports
activities themselves.
Many young people in Ukraine are fond of sports. They attend school sport clubs. There
are many sport teams at schools and different competitions are often organized.
There are many school parties. Parents help to organize them.
Children show their talents at drama or singing, or dancing. Most music societies have
bands or orchestras which perform on different occasions.
Many children and teenagers have hobbies. They join different clubs that are organized for
young people who have the same interests and hobbies. During their holidays young people
like to travel. They go to different cities or countries and visit many interesting places.
Young people like to communicate with each other and spend a lot of time together. They
often go for a walk, they go to the concerts, to the cinema or to the disco, they speak about
their lessons and music, discuss different problems.
