Describe healthy way of life.


The proverb ‘A sound mind is in a sound body’, is of Greek origin. This proverb lays stress on human mind
and body that should be both healthy and sound. A healthy person can think normally and act rapidly in any
given situation. A sound body means a healthy body that is free from diseases and pain. On the other hand, a
sound mind means a mind capable of good, positive, progressive and independent mind.
A healthy body is obtained by maintaining a good diet. Regular exercise is essential to keep our body strong
and healthy as the age progresses. A good workout consists of vigorous exercises or yoga and other such things.
To keep the mind clean, a person should always have an optimistic thinking and honest attitude in life. The
Greeks gave much importance to the healthy living and good organized form of life.
The Greeks ate healthy food and rarely indulged themselves in bad practices. They ate meat and fruits. They
also trained heavily in warfare and different sports. This is also the reason why they started organizing Olympic
Games to prove their fitness. Moreover, in earlier days, they had a good organized form of democracy.
Body and mind are connected with each other and allows man to have a satisfied mind and such mind leads a
man to have a good body and a meaningful life. Therefore, a sound mind can function with a positive approach if
it exists in a sound body.
