Objectives:
General
• To help the teachers and students become familiar in the use of GeoGebra application in teaching and learning
mathematics
Specific
• At least 85% of the beneficiaries will use GeoGebra application in teaching mathematics
• At least 85% of the beneficiaries will enhance the teaching and learning process by the use GeoGebra application in
teaching mathematics
• At least 85% of the beneficiaries will recognize the relevance of GeoGebra application to teaching mathematics
• At least 85% of the beneficiaries will bridge the gaps of practice through the use of online application material.
• At least 90% of the beneficiaries will develop knowledge and learning in the use of other online application material
other than GeoGebra according to courses they taught.
Aiming to address issues regarding students’ performance in mathematics, the mathematics instructors of the College of
Teacher Education (CTE) opted to provide technical support to the DepEd Taysan District, in the form of GeoGebra
software and manuals. With its theme “PYTHAGORAS: Providing the Youth of Taysan with the Helpful Application
GeoGebra for Ocular Reinforcement during Academic Studies”, this extension activity was participated by 20 mathematics
teachers from the Taysan District.
The mathematics department opted to do technical support because the professors have observed a number of weaknesses in
the kids' performance, one of which is their proficiency in mathematics. As educators, we never stopped trying to figure out
how to close the gaps and overcome the difficulties, and we always kept an open mind. The rise of technology is one of the
To choose the optimum technology transfer method, we held meetings. We all have decided to go on with PYTHAGORAS;
Providing Youth of Taysan with Helpful Application Geogebra for Ocular Reinforcement during Academic Studies which is
our extension service for the Taysan district. The GeoGebra software is one computer tool that can help with both teaching
and understanding mathematics, especially those topics that were listed earlier. With all of the features that GeoGebra offers,
users can assume that it will be a great tool for aiding in the visualization of abstract mathematical concepts.
In order to support the teachers and students of Taysan District in maintaining their exceptional performance, particularly in
the field of mathematics, the CTE BSED mathematics program is sharing this content. Numerous studies have shown that
using GeoGebra to learn math has a major impact on math performance. This is because using GeoGebra makes math concepts
easier to understand and makes students more motivated to learn math.
The department of mathematics has produced certifications, learning module cover, and project proposals. The handing over
of the Geogebra learning module guide for conceptualizing mathematics to Dagatan Integrated National High School has
gone successfully, with Dr. E. Villamor and Dr. M. Mame, the department's dean, each delivering a message. The learning
module's turnover then ensued. Overall, the shift of technical assistance has been successful, and we anticipate great success.
