One of the mandates of the university is providing extension services to its stakeholders. To abide with this, the College of Teacher Education hold extension activity, Buklat-Aklat
para Mulat: Handog Karunungan sa Kabataan, a book donation drive. This aims to promote love of reading as the college sees the importance of physical books and other reading
materials in intellectual development among learners.
The program started at around 11:30 in the morning, later than the scheduled opening due to traffic congestion met by the CTE faculty extensionist. The ceremony began with a
prayer and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem.
A welcoming remark was given by Mrs. Bernadette Banaira, Principal II of Pinagbayanan Elementary School (PES). She expressed her great appreciation to the CTE faculty
extensionist for choosing PES as the recipient of this project. She mentioned that this kind of activity really helps their teachers as well as their learners to have additional
references in different subject areas. For her, this added to the limited collection of books they have in their library.
Another message was heard from Mrs. Emelinda J. Capistrano, Head Teacher III of Pinagbayanan Integrated National High School (PINHS). She also expressed her sincerest
appreciation to the group for this project. She made it a point that this activity will not go into waste, as this promotes learners' love of reading. She made sure that more learners
will visit and stay in their library to read. She is also very happy for their learners as there are more stories they are going to read and share. Before she ended her talk, she then
introduced all the teachers present on the occasion.
