    RA 9003 this act shall be known as the “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of
    2000”
    2. January 26, 2001
    3. Ensure the protection of public health and the environment - this refers to preventing
    illness and the spread of infectious communicable diseases and promoting healthier
    lifestyles.
    Encourage greater private sector participation in solid waste management - Private
    partnership contracts in solid waste management are referred to as this. For example,
    our institution, APCAS, encourages and assists students in learning about proper solid
    waste management to benefit society.
    Utilize environmentally sound methods that maximize the utilization of valuable resource
    conservation and recovery - this term is used to describe sustainable waste
    management, which urges us to reduce, reuse, and recycling and recovery of waste that
    is produced.
