Using sources in writing and in a discussion.

ESW-
item!

1. Find out what the text on your card means.

2. Find three reliable English sources to use. Do not use Wikipedia! You can use the re-
sources below + one (or two) that you find yourself

Lärresurser → NE → Britanica School → Advanced

Lärresurser → Global Issues In Context (password info, then info again)

3. Carefully read and compile the information from your sources so that you can
present it clearly and in your own words. Some advice on how to paraphrase on page
295!

Helpful questions:
- What does it mean?
- Who were involved?
- When did this take place?
- What is fascinating about this?
- What is the history behind it?
- Where and why?
- What are the consequences?
- Are there other things related to the topic that are relevant?
- Importance?
4. Use in-text citations for your source information. See page 296!

5. Source criticism must be a part of your text. Use page 295! Do this in the last para-
graph of your text.

6. After your last paragraph you add a list of Works Cited. You can also call it a Refer-
ence List. That list should include three different English sources. See page 296!

Important!
- Divide the text in paragraphs. Make sure there is a logical structure to your text.
- 500 – 900 words.
- Use your own language when paraphrasing (=referera, skriv med egna ord)
- Write correct source references in the text.
- The last paragraph is source criticism (according to page 295)
- Add a Reference List or a Works Cited list.
- Check spelling and grammar before handing in the text.
- Deadline: Wednesday Dec 21st at 23:55.
