 General Information of Shangyu

Shangyu District is located in the northeast of Zhejiang Province and on south bank of
Hangzhou Bay and between Hangzhou City and Ningbo City, facing Shanghai City across the sea.
It takes on a pattern of “five mountains and one river and four parts of lands”, covering a total
area of 1403 square km, having a population of 780,000 people, with 63% urbanization rate. It
realized a total industrial output value of CNY218.2 billion in 2016, of which CNY187.9 billion was
from above-scale enterprises.

It has five main supporting industries including equipment manufacturing，green chemicals，
textile ， lighting electrical appliance and new materials. As the hometown of architecture,
Shangyu has obvious advantages in the architecture industry.

East Zhejiang and the tourism brand——Four-Season Fresh Fruits Travel have great impact on
the Yangtze River Delta regions.

General Information of HSEDA
Founded in 1998, Hangzhou Bay Shangyu Economic and
Technological Development Area was upgraded to national-
class development area by the State Council in 2013.

 The Development Area is located on the south bank of Hangzhou Bay
and at the center of the urban circle of Shanghai City, Hangzhou City
Traffic Location and Ningbo City.
Highway：10 km to the Shangyu crossing of Shanghai-Hangzhou-
Ningbo Highway, the Binhai New City north crossing of Changshu-
Taizhou Highway is set in the Area, 90 minutes to Shanghai across the
Jiaxing-Shaoxing Bridge.
Railway： 28 minutes to Hangzhou and Ningbo, 90 minutes to
Shanghai by the Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo High-speed Railway.
Airport：40 minutes’ drive to Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport and

Ningbo Lishe Airport, 90minutes’ drive to Shanghai Hongqiao
International Airport and Pudong International Airport.
Port： 84 nautical miles to Ningbo Beilun Port and 108 nautical miles
to Shanghai Port, 3000-ton heavy cargo wharf has been put into
operation, the closed port with ten million tons of throughput is
under planning and construction.
 Economic Scale
The Development Area has got investment of
over CNY130 billion, and has 205 enterprises
settled in it. In its planned area of 133 square km,
nearly 40 square km has been developed. It has
introduced and fostered 27 listed enterprises.
Its economic scale broke CNY100 billion in 2016.
It realized a total industrial output value of
CNY101.7 billion and tax revenue of CNY2.3
billion, ranking among the first in all the national
development areas in Zhejiang Province.

 1. Strong Scientific Research Ability
The Development Area attaches great importance to the progress of science and technology, encouraging and
guiding enterprises to increase investment in science and technology, so as to strengthen independent innovation.
It carries out extensive cooperation with several key universities and scientific research institutions domestic and
overseas such as Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University. The high and new

3. Extensive International Cooperation
A lot of enterprises have overseas R&D teams in Silicon Valley, Canada, Europe and other places, providing strong
technical support for domestic production enterprises, and have established extensive cooperation with many
international well-known enterprises such as BASF, Dow Chemical, DSM and Johnson & Johnson.
The development of globalization has gained momentum at a rapid pace, for example, Lonsen completed its merger
transaction with a German company, DyStar, who was the global dye giant and industry standard maker; Runtu
increased capital to hold Germany Yorkshire; Wolong had a merger with ATB Austria who was one of the top 3 motor
enterprises in the world. The enterprises have further deepened the international cooperation and expanded the
international perspective.
4. Extensive International Cooperation
Since 2015, Shangyu has held several conferences and seminar in both China and Nordic countries to promote the
collaboration between Chinese companies and Nordic companies. The area already have several successful
collaboration cases between Chinese and Nordic companies.

In June 2018, Shangyu organized the business delegation visit to Denmark with Shangyu leading companies as part of
the delegation. The delegation held the seminar at Copenhagen with Nordic organizations and companies. On this
seminar, Shangyu signed the collaboration agreement with Copenhagen Bio Science park, Norway Health Tech Cluster
to promote the communication and collaboration between Chinese health tech companies and China Health tech
companies.

billion, it will mainly develop the industries

The Health Tech Conference
In the second half year of 2018, a conference focus on health tech and pharma medical will be held in Shangyu.
The conference will provide the opportunity that Nordic health tech and pharma medical companies to meet the
Chinese health tech and pharma medical companies. The Nordic companies and Chinese companies will have the
match making meetings and share market insights for both Nordic market and Chinese market, to find out the
business collaboration opportunities between the companies. The collaboration between Chinese and Nordic
companies and organizations could be product collaboration, R&D collaboration, marketing collaboration, etc.

China marketing.
6. Presentation from representative companies from Chinese company and Nordic

Afternoon Session
1. Match-making meeting between Chinese companies and Nordic companies. In this
session, Nordic companies and Chinese companies will make the presentation and will
have small group match-making in between.
