According to Hand (2018), data protection is the application of tools to prevent access to

specific data. Some data protection tools include using passwords, biometrics, and facial

recognition before accessing specific data. The people given access to these tools make up for

data privacy. According to Hand (2018), data privacy defines the people allowed to access

specific information. For example, different doctors may access a patient's private information in

a medical setup when fed into a common database. However, a different patient in the same

hospital could never know what the patient is suffering from to details unless the patient is

willing to share their status. Such information is kept private and out of reach for all non-staff,

and only specific staff can access such information whenever there is a need to access it.

A successful data protection strategy ensures proper security of relevant data, minimizing

loss, theft, corruption, and destruction of valuable private data. When such data protection is part

of the law, organizations that collect or handle sensitive data become more responsible and

sensitive to issues relating to such data. Therefore, for any organization or country, data privacy

and protection is a vital step to ensure that citizens do not face psychological, financial, and

personality losses.
