Research Objectives

This research aims to discuss how Indians are vulnerable to data privacy issues and how

individuals and institutions can use the available resources to prevent distortion and maltreatment

of private data. However, the goal of this research is too broad to handle individually. Also, it

was appropriate to recommend what the government can do to prevent future data breaches.

Therefore, the main aim of this research was broken down into smaller and more specific

objectives to help come out with the most appropriate literature. These research objectives

include:

1. To identify weaknesses in data privacy in India today.

2. To identify primary issues with sharing personal data on an individual level.

3. To identify the current forms of data protection available in India.

4. To inform about the rights of data privacy as per the law.

5. To familiarize with ways to reduce the risks of having unwanted data leaking on the

internet, especially on social media.

6. The steps that the government can take to help entities (including individuals) protect the

data they have to submit to a second party.
