“Downfall”

Characteristics:
- Cardboard based construction 70cm x 25cm
Materials
- Cardboard
- Wooden stick
- Acrylics

Concept
This construction aims to depict a timeline of civilization evolving
through its buildings. The timeline is starts with two huts continues
with a wood cabin and a modern house and ends with three
skyscrapers covering a sufficient range of buildings. They all stand
on top of a cartoon painted dark grey that depicts the concrete that
is found in the cities. The curvy shape of the floor symbolizes the
fluidity of time that has passed for this evolution to occur. The
foundations of the construction are wooden sticks with leaves made
out of cartoon attached to them. This symbolizes how nature is the
one supporting all these buildings yet it remains trapped under them.
There are neither buildings nor nature after the curve, symbolizing
the fact that with the foundations (nature) being in shortage caused
by its careless use, no evolution is possible.
