ONLINE MATERIALS PATTERN AND SALES PROCESSING SYSTEM

ABSTRACT

The project entitled “Online Materials Pattern and Sales Processing System” is developed
for Uma Pattern Works , Kanuvai, Coimbatore. The aim of this project is to automate the sales
process of the design patterns. Uma Pattern Works is a small scale industry started in the year
1990 as a Sole Proprietorship based firm. The firm hold years of experience in this domain. It
was established ourselves as a leading manufacturer and exporter of Metal Pattern, Teak Wood
Pattern, Casting Pattern, Gunmetal Pattern and many more.

The Proprietor has got more than 25 years of experience in the field of manufacturer of
patterns. Now the unit is growing big and specialized in making patterns with cnc route to cope
up with the market and development in the field.

In this project, the administrator of the company will upload the various pattern details
which is maintained through the centralized database server. The customer or the users can view
the uploaded patterns through this website. And also they can make order for their desired
patterns over online through this project. The admin user can track the customer’s order by
logging into the system. The project is developed with the PHP as a front end and MySql as a
back end tool.

This document will propose all features and procedures to develop the system. This
project specially containing details about objectives, scope limitation, process model, primary
requirements, team development, possible project risks, project schedule and finally monitoring
and reporting mechanisms.

Online Materials Pattern and Sales Processing System is very useful for pattern designing
firms to maintain their activities over the web, safe the time that will take to check the orders and
prepare invoices for the customer orders. It will help the firms to maintain the sales orders.

pattern design firms or manufacturing centers can be use it to develop their strategy for putting
the order processing and for getting better results in less time.
OBJECTIVE

in person to view the available design patterns and making the orders. It is very difficult in the
current era.
 BACKGROUND STUDY

EXISTING SYSTEM

At present, the static web application is developed for showing the design pattern
products over the web. There is no dynamic web portal is available for updating the day to day
activities and customer order processing for their desired design patterns.

The disadvantages for the present pattern design sales order processing system, it takes a
lot of times when prepare the sales orders and invoice processing at the first time for usage. And
we are needs number of computers with the same number of users.

With the current system, the customers or the users have to visit the firm or organization
in person to view the available design patterns and making the orders.

Drawbacks of the Existing System

The existing system has following disadvantages,

 It is the desktop application, not in online.

 More time consuming
 Increases the traversal time to and from of the company.
 Consolidated reports are harder to generate.
 Clerical work is more in maintaining the backup.
PROPOSED SYSTEM

The proposed system is web based. The proposed system will cover design pattern
material purchase for pattern work and order taking through online. The generation of invoice,
purchase and sales will be done through online. The purchase and order will be maintained in it.

The package has been developed on the latest relational database system technology in
online. Online Materials Pattern and Sales Processing System provides the benefits of
streamlining of operations, enhanced administration and control, improved response, cost control
and improved profitability. It can be easily customized to the requirements of viewing the
various pattern designs, update and make the orders for the same.
