Welcome to my Megaman crochet pattern! Each body part involves some simple sewing. I’ve provided pictures of the
process to help if you have trouble with the instructions. Good luck and enjoy your new Megaman!

Skill Level: Intermediate

Finished Measurements: about 13”

Materials:

• Worsted weight acrylic yarn – colors: turquoise, royal blue, light peach
• Size G/B – 4.25mm crochet hook
• Yarn or tapestry needle
• Polyester fiberfill and/or polybeads
• Black plastic teddy bear eyes (15mm)
• Cardstock and hot glue (optional)

Sewing stitches used:

• Running stitch
• Whip stitch – one sewing stitch per crochet stitch

Crochet Stitches Used and Abbreviations:

• Single crochet (sc)

• Slip stitch (slst)
• Increase (inc)
• Decrease (dec)
• Double crochet (dc)
• Make a ring: You can do this any way you like, but here’s how I do it: Chain 3, slst in your first chain to form a
ring. Sc the desired amount of stitches for your first round in the center of your ring.
• Joined Round: This is done when you don’t want the spiral effect of continuous rounds. Chain 1 at the beginning
of each round and slst to join the round at the end. Be sure to count your total stitches at the end, I find it easy
to get off track when using joined rounds. If you don’t like doing it this way, feel free to use continuous rounds.
I just like the neat edges.
Instructions:
Head: Megaman’s head is the most complicated portion. It’s a whopping 13 separate pieces! Don’t worry, a lot of
them are repeats. We’ll start with his face and work our way out. The number in parentheses is the total number of
stitches you’ll have at the end of the round. I’ll do this for all the pieces.

Face (Make 2 in light peach) using continuous rounds. Image 1: For this part, you’ll make two identical hemispheres
and sew them together. Leave a long tail on one of them to use for sewing. Image 1 shows finished piece.
• Round 1: Make a ring of six stitches
• Round 2: inc in every stitch (12)
• Round 3: inc in every other stitch ( 18)
• Round 4: repeat round 3 (27)
• Round 5: inc in every 3rd stitch (36)
• Round 6: inc in every 9th stitch (40)
• Round 7-10: sc in every stitch, tie off (still 40)
o Assembly: Line up two halves and whip stitch together using long tail.

Helmet (Make 1 in royal blue) Using continuous rounds. Image 2:

• Round 1: Make a ring of six stitches
• Round 2: inc in every stitch (12)
• Round 3: inc in every other stitch ( 18)
• Round 4: repeat round 3 (27)
• Round 5: inc in every 3rd stitch (36)
• Round 6: inc in every 3rd stitch (48)
• Round 7-12: sc in each stitch
• Round 13: dec evenly 4 times in this round (44)
• Round 14: 3 dc in one stitch. For the rest of the round, dec every 4 stitches stopping before the 3 dc’s (36)
• Round 15: sc up to and including center dc of last round. Chain 2, sc once in chain and once in base of stitch. Sc
in last dc from previous round.
• Round 16: Dec every 4 stopping across from the peak and tie off. This puts your tie off end under his chin.

Ear Caps (Make 6 in turquoise) Using joined rounds. Image 3:

• Round 1: Make a ring of six stitches
• Round 2: Inc in every stitch (12)
• Round 3: Inc in every stitch and tie off (24)
o Assembly: stack three together and slip stitch together by inserting hook through all three layers and
pulling yarn through.

Helmet Stripe (Make 2 in turquoise) using continuous rounds. Image 3:

• Round 1: chain 30 and sc across your chain for a total of 29 stitches. Put another 2 sc in the last stitch (3 total in
that stitch). Continue around to the other side of your chain by sc in each stitch - there should be 28 on that
side. At the end put an additional one sc in that last stitch and sc one in the next stitch. Tie off.
o Assembly: stack them and slip stitch together, same as above.
Helmet Dot (Make 2 in turquoise) Image 3:
• Round 1: make ring of 8 stitches, slst and tie off.
o Assembly: stack them and slip stitch together, same as above.

Helmet Neck (Make 1 in royal blue) Image 6:

• Chain 16
• Sc 7, inc in next stitch, chain 1 and sc in base, sc 7 (to end) and tie off.

Body Part 1 (Make 1 in indicated colors) Image 4:

• Round 1: Using royal blue, chain 10 and sc across your chain for a total of 9 stitches. Put another 2 sc in the last
stitch for a total of 3 in the end of your chain. Continue around to the other side of your chain by sc in each
stitch– there should be 8 on that side. At the end put an additional one sc in that last stitch and sc one in the
next stitch. This is the end of your first round. The stitch in front of your hook is now #1 of the next round if
you’d like to mark it with a stitch marker. (20)
• Round 2: sc 7, sc 2 in the next 3 stitches (rounding the end) . Sc 7, sc 2 in the next 3 stitches. (end with 26
stitches)
• Round 3-7: sc in each stitch
• Round 8: slst in each stitch
• Round 9: Switch to turquoise and sc in each stitch of round 7. This leaves a border of blue that’s nice and neat.
• Round 10: sc in each stitch and tie off.

Body Part 2 (Make 1 in turquoise) Image 4:

• Repeat rounds 1-7 of body part 1
• Sc 6 stitches. Leave a long tail when you tie off to use for sewing.

appendages first!

Right Hand – Glove (Make 1 in royal blue) Images 5:

• Round 1: Make a ring of 8 stitches
• Round 2: Inc every stitch (16)
• Round 3: sc one row working in back loops only (you’ll use the front stitches later)
• Round 4-5: sc in each st
• Round 6: (fingers) chain 9 and single crochet back down the chain (8 stitches). Slst in next stitch
on base. Repeat this three more times. You’re making long fingers that will be folded in half and sewn. Now flip your
piece over so you see the open pocket under the fingers. Thumb: slst down across the surface of the hand. Where you
put the stitches isn’t as important as where you end up. Chain 7 and crochet back down, tie off.
• Pick up new yarn in front loops of round 3, working in the opposite direction and using joined rounds. Sc 6
rounds and tie off.
o Assembly: Fold fingers in half towards opening. Beginning with thumb, sew up and over each finger and
then across the palm, closing the opening.

after you attach part two to the end.

(18)

did for the body pieces except for the number of chains.)
• Round 3: Sc 7, inc in next 4 stitches, sc 9, inc in next 2 stitches. (30)
• Round 4: Sc 12, inc in next 2 stitches at this end, sc 15 and tie off
• TIP: To make Megaman stand, hotglue some cardstock or cardboard ovals to the wrong side of the sole before
sewing it on to the boot.
o Assembly: line up sole and boot and whip stitch together.

Megaman is easy to assemble. The turquoise arms and legs fit nicely into the glove, gun, and boots. I like to use a
running stitch to sew these in. The helmet accents can be joined with hot glue or sewing. Limbs can be sewn or
attached with snap joints. I hope you enjoyed this pattern! Thanks so much. If you run into any problems, feel free to
contact me.
