    ALEXANDER THE great

    Battle of the granicus - the battle of granicus was the first major
    battle that Alexander the great had fought. The battle was fought
    in May of 334 B.C in The battle took place on the road from
    Abydus to Dascylium. Alexander and his army won the battle and
    resulted in the Macedonians invading the Persian and taking over.
    This was one of 3 of his major victories. There were
    approximately 6000 casualties as a result of the battle, mostly on
    the defending side.
