someone that's

production operator
0:32 job to have a good

idea of what their
0:35 availability
0:36 might look like to work

and i say this
0:39 because typically
0:40 you're going to be

looking at some
0:42 different type of shifts
0:44 either there's going to

be a day shift
0:46 and a night shift
0:47 you're generally

working more hours
0:49 maybe you're working

like 10 to 12 hours
0:52 or you're going to have

three different
0:53 shifts there's going to

be like a
0:54 morning
0:55 midday or evening or

night shift
0:58 and i would suggest

knowing this right
1:01 off the bat the recruiter
1:03 or the person that

gives you that first
1:04 interview will ask you

about your
1:06 availability
1:08 one tip is if you are

available in
1:10 flexible's work any of

those shifts
1:13 definitely share that

because that's
1:15 always a good thing
1:17 in the factories they

definitely look
1:19 for that type of

flexibility and
1:20 sometimes
1:21 they really need to fill

for one
1:23 specific shift
1:25 at a time so if you're

flexible that
1:27 will work in your

benefit
1:29 the other thing you

want to keep in mind
1:30 is you want to know if

you're going to
1:32 be available to work
1:34 holidays and

weekends as well
1:37 that could also be a

nice plus factor
1:39 for you
1:40 because as you can

imagine those are
1:42 tougher
1:43 uh shifts to fill so if

you're available
1:46 weekends
1:47 holidays that can really

work in your
1:49 favor as well
1:50 the next thing i want to

talk about is
1:52 you know you are

going to be asked
1:54 by the recruiter or

whoever is that
1:57 first person that does

that phone
1:58 interview with you
2:00 or maybe it's a virtual

video interview
2:02 with you
2:03 you're going to be

asked about your work
2:05 history so this is

something i've seen
2:08 when interviewing

forklift operators
2:11 production operators
2:13 different types of

factory roles or
2:15 general labor
2:16 world roles even and

with these jobs
2:20 some people will have

resumes while
2:21 others don't have

resumes and they're
2:23 a lot of times they're

trying to refer
2:25 from their memory
2:27 what their experience

looked like a lot
2:29 of companies will need

to verify
2:31 dates of employment

for you and it gets
2:34 really challenging
2:35 if you do not have a

resume put together
2:38 put together a resume

just take the time
2:40 to do that because it

will make it
2:42 extremely extremely

easier for you
2:46 as you're sharing

about your work
2:48 history and confirming

those different
2:50 dates of employment
2:51 so when you're not like

you know walking
2:54 through your
2:55 experience and really

taking a bunch of
2:57 time to think
2:58 or you know giving the

wrong information
3:01 some companies will

perform background
3:03 checks before you're

hired so you
3:05 definitely want to make

sure you have
3:07 your work experience

and everything
3:08 buttoned up and again

the best way
3:11 and easiest way where

you can do that
3:13 and also keep track
3:14 of your work

experience is by using
a
3:17 resume
3:19 now the next thing

you're definitely
3:22 going to
3:22 highlight as you're

talking about your
3:24 experience is to share
3:25 any factory or

warehouse related
jobs
3:29 and if you don't have

factory or
3:30 warehouse experience

already
3:32 it'll be really good to

just share any
3:34 experience you have
3:35 in a fast-paced
environment so if you
3:38 have maybe retail

experience really
3:40 highlight
3:41 how you're able to

work in a fast pace
3:44 because as you can

imagine in factories
3:46 and warehouses
3:47 um a lot of time you're

pushing a ton of
3:49 product and you have
3:50 specific goals that you

have to meet uh
3:52 within different time
3:54 frames so definitely

talk about your
3:56 ability to
3:58 work in a fast pace

and then the other
4:01 thing i just want to talk

about is make
4:03 sure that you're telling

them that you
4:04 you know telling them

a few reasons why
4:06 you're interested in

that specific
4:08 company maybe you

believe in the mission
4:10 maybe you really like

the products
4:13 maybe you've heard

about the company
4:15 from a friend have

some type of reason a
4:17 lot of times the

recruiter will ask
4:19 why you're interested

so you just want
4:21 to be ready to say

something
4:24 not just kind of the

standard while i'm
4:26 looking for a job
4:27 really be able to relate

and say why
4:29 you're interested
4:30 because a lot of times

people want to
4:32 hire people that are

the most
4:33 motivated and that can

set you apart
4:36 from the hundreds of

other people that
4:37 apply for that role
4:39 and now the last thing

that i recommend
4:41 that you do
4:43 as you are preparing

for your interview
4:46 for a production

operator job
4:50 is to make sure you

come ready with
4:52 questions
4:53 this is something that

stands out to the
4:55 interviewer but it also

helps
4:57 you you should be

asking and
4:58 understanding what it's

like
5:00 in the warehouse or

factory you know is
5:02 it is it really hot there in

the summer
5:05 is it really cold do they

happen to have
5:06 ac like
5:08 what is the

environment gonna
look like
5:10 for you and then also

ask questions
5:12 about the interview

process
5:14 the recruiter should

share that with you
5:16 but i will be honest not

every recruiter
5:18 shares it maybe there

wasn't enough time
5:20 to you know get into

that
5:22 be sure to ask just so

that you can
5:24 understand what the

interview process
5:26 would look like and

then the other thing
5:29 is
5:29 if you're able to and

you have enough
5:31 time i would definitely

ask about

onboarding or training

this is going
5:37 to be your first time

working in
5:39 a factory or warehouse

type of
5:41 environment it'll be

good to just know

they actually have

other last tip
5:50 is to be ready to talk

about safety
5:53 now with large

companies uh there's
a
5:56 lot of protocols around

safety and just
5:58 making sure that
5:59 you know the workers

are safe everyone
6:01 in the factory or

warehouse is safe so
6:03 if you've been a part of

any safety
6:05 programs or
6:07 you know just basically

be ready to talk
6:09 about why safety is

important
6:12 who you see as you

know the person
6:15 that's responsible for

safety or persons
6:17 that are responsible for

safety and how
6:19 you've been able to

really push for
6:21 safe environments

especially again if
6:23 you've had warehouse

or
6:25 factory experience be

able to talk about
6:28 how you have been

able to keep your
6:31 workspace safe in your

past experience
6:34 so anyway
