The ISO NORM defines the means of transmission, the pin-and-socket connector
and the exchange of data from the ISOBUS. The latter works on the basis of an
ADC-Bus which is also used in the automotive industry as well as for industrial
vehicles. The ISOBUS regulates exchanges between control terminals, modules in
the tractor and the towed or carried equipment. The compatibility of the devices is
reviewed by ISOBUS independent test institutes, in accordance with the ISO
11783 NORM. The equipment receives the ISOBUS certificate if it passes that test
successfully.
NOVATEC Isobus
NOVATOP
Since the ISO norm allows an arbitrary combination of terminals, basic equipment,
modules etc., the description of all variants is beyond the scope of this guide. For this
reason, our examples in this guide are limited to the NOVATEC ISOBUS - NOVATOP. If
another terminal is used, the distribution of function keys and the data entry may be
different. You can find more information in the manual of your tractor’s terminal. Ask
your tractor dealer for necessary indications.
This description covers the maximum range of functions that the system can
provide you with. According to your sprayer equipment, some menus, control
buttons are not allocated on the terminal or do not possess a function.
3 SECURITY INDICATIONS
3.1 Exclusion clause:
The NOVATEC ISOBUS and NOVATOP regulations are exclusively intended for
agricultural sprayers. Any installation or use out of such a scope is not the responsibility
of Tecnoma technologies.
The manufacturer is not liable for damages caused to people or objects. Only the user
bears the responsibility of any inappropriate uses.
The normal use foresees the respect of maintenance and operation conditions
prescribed by Tecnoma technologies.
The rules of anticipation of accidents, safety, industrial, medical and road regulations
recognized in general must be observed. All changes to the equipment exclude the
liability of Tecnoma technologies.

Warning!
Warning!
Read and understand this manual before using the device. It is also important that
other operators of this device read and understand the manual.
Turn power off during maintenance or when using a charger (remove the ISOBUS
plug).
Never undertake maintenance or repairs on the device with the module on.
Use clear water for your tests. Use chemical products only when all properties are
known.
Do not expose the terminal and controller(s) and sensors to the direct beam of a
high pressure cleaner.
Turn the keys with the fingertip. Avoid using the nails.
If part of this guide should remain beyond understanding after reading it, get in
touch with your dealer or the customer service department of Tecnoma
technologies for any further explanation.
Read carefully all the safety instructions in the manual and the safety stickers of
the device.
Keep the device and all its parts in a good condition. Unauthorized modifications
or misuse may affect the smooth functioning and/or the safety and influence on
the life of the device and eliminate the device’s guarantee.

6.18 Choice
Choice of nozzles and calibration
6.18.1 General information
The regulation is related to the flowmeter and the displayed pressure is a pressure calculated from the values of
nozzles entered in the system. The choice of nozzles is therefore essential to have a calculated pressure
corresponding to that of the pressure gauge. The display will be more correct as long as the entered values are
more accurate. This chapter concerns the choice of nozzles and their calibration.
Press on the key in the work mask, then the key in the machine values mask.
Example of the setting mask. Here, it is the standardized „green“ nozzle that has been chosen. A list
allows selecting any standardized nozzle. Nozzles „A“, „B“, „C“ and „D“ are non standardized nozzles.
They can be defined by the user.

NOVATEC ISOBUS AND NOVATOP
The key allows switching between the presentations of both figures shown above. The
presentation of the figure nozzles mask/pressure calculation allows defining a range of use. You can
define the desired spraying speed as well as the minimal and the maximal work pressure. The max. and
min. volumes are then based on these data.
The nozzles mask/pressure calibration figure shows the calibration mask of standardized nozzles. It is
possible to set a volume to spread at a given pressure (3 bar) and choose the nozzle in accordance with
these constants.
Start the sprayer using the key of the multi-functions handle or in the complementary mask 2.
Raise the spraying pressure to 3 bars using the keys and of the multi-functions handle or in
the complementary mask 2.
Verify the flow of various nozzles using a test tube for exactly one minute.
Stop then the spraying using the key and put the sprayer back to automatic mode with the
key .
Divide the quantity obtained by the number of nozzles verified and input
the obtained value in the slot l/min.
The calibration procedure is thus completed. The calibration mask now
looks like in the opposite figure.
The key appears in the calibrated nozzle mode. The nozzle calibration currently selected can be
cancelled by pressing on this key.
The calibra
calibration
alibration of non standardized nozzles is different. We input here
two reference points which define the nozzle flow. The first reference
point is fixed at 3 bar, just like for the standardized nozzles. The second
reference point is free. This second reference point can also be set to
above 3 bars, depending on the usage range of the nozzle. Opposite Fig.
Start the sprayer using the key of the multi-functions handle or in the complementary mask 2.

Stop then the spraying using the key and put the sprayer back to automatic mode with the
key .
Divide the quantity obtained by the number of nozzles verified and input the thus obtained value in the
slot l/min
Input also the pressure of the second measure in the calibration mask.
The calibration procedure is now completed. The accuracy of the result depends on the care brought
during the measurement and the precision of the measuring tools.
