PROMOTIONAL PLANNING

Promotion is a method to delivery of company, brand or product message to target customers.


Promotion also a marketing tool used to create awareness and used by company to aid the
delivery of paid and unpaid promotional method. Each tool contribute different way to reach
customers and achieve communication objective,

For our library, we propose to use advertising using traditional and digital as our approach to
gain patron’s attention for our existing. For traditional media, we likely to distribute our
information through school magazines, school bulletin, brochures and flyers. We have
thought with this approach, our users that consist of students, teachers, professional staff and
non-professional staff are aware with our services or existing in the school. Besides, as digital
approach, we decide to make our official website and social media such as Facebook,
Instagram, Twitter and YouTube to deliver our information easily. We make our approach to
the professional staff, non-professional and teacher more to media social or digital media
because the student are prohibits to brings their smartphone and laptop to school area. That
why we give more focused to this three users through media social. For students, we deliver
the information through flyers, brochure, bulletin school and make direct promotion class to
class.

Next, to make our library outstanding, we use in-house promotional method too. When the
Malaysia public festival have arrive example Hari Malaysia, We can make an contest event
such as writing poem, drawing a poster, explore race and etc. We want to encourage our
beloved user to keep visiting library and we want to fertilize the reading practising in their
life. Besides, we want our student complete their Nilam programme that a part of their
curriculum which the student must gain some positive from this government programme.

Third, we always promote our library through assembly. Our librarian will promote our
services at the assembly. For example, a librarian promote the new arrival book open and
make exhibition for a week. Next, we can make the book reviews our we recommend the
book at the assembly, it’s might a bit boring but we can expose them the bestseller book to
them. Also, we have morning reading which the library propose to principle to make the
morning reading.
Moreover, we also have plan to make outreach programme. We always wonder what kind of
activities will attract the user’s attention especially students. Our plan are we want to make
community service such as mural at the school, ‘gotong-royong’ with the residents around the
school and Trip to the book fest. Addition, we also make Library festival or Library week
which we promote what is the function of the library, what kind of our services and our
strength to the community in the school.

Also, we have library session which the first students have a class where the library conduct
to expose to them our services, how to use the system, how the ethic when in the library, how
to borrow the book and etc. With this approach, we can make our students independence and
know about the library. We also have a special class for the PT3 students when they after
their exam, we teach them to use Microsoft words, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft
PowerPoint.
