COMPUTATIONS

WEIGH THE 3 CONTAINERS = 0.0087 Kg (CONTAINER 1 AND 2) , = 0.0086

(CONTAINER 3)
WEIGH THE CONTAINERS W/ WET SOIL:
CONTAINER 1 = 0.1081 Kg
CONTAINER 2 = 0.1050 Kg
CONTAINER 3 = 0.0996 Kg

TO GET THE WEIGH OF THE SOIL (WITHOUT THE CONTAINER)

WEIGH OF SOIL = WEIGH OF CONTAINER W/ SOIL – WEIGH OF CONTAINER
(1) 0.1081 Kg - 0.0087 Kg = 0.0994 Kg
(2) 0.1050 Kg - 0.0087 Kg = 0.0963 Kg
(3) 0.0996 Kg - 0.0086 Kg = 0.091 Kg

TO GET THE WEIGH OF THE DRY SOIL/SOLID (W/O THE CONTAINER)

WEIGH OF DRY SOIL = WEIGH OF DRY SOIL W/ CONTAINER - WEIGH OF
CONTAINER
(1) 0.100 Kg - 0.0087 Kg = 0.0913 Kg
(2) 0.096 Kg - 0.0087 Kg = 0.0873 Kg
(3) 0.092 Kg - 0.0086 Kg = 0.0834 Kg

GET THE WEIGH OF THE LIQUID/WATER SOIL (W/O CONTAINER)
WEIGH OF LIQUID/WATER = WEIGH SOIL – WEIGH OF DRY SOIL
(1) 0.0994 Kg - 0.0913 Kg = 0.0081 Kg
(2) 0.0963 Kg - 0.0873 Kg = 0.009 Kg
(3) 0.091 Kg - 0.0834 Kg = 0.0076 Kg

OBSERVATIONS:

The soil moisture content, which can be described as the usual

water content of the soils, is something we noticed. The inter-aggregate
and intra-aggregate pore spaces between the soil aggregates are where
this moisture can be found. Normally, air and/or water are present in this
pore space. The soil is fully dried if air fills every one of the pores. The soil
is deemed saturated if all of its pores are full of liquid. Despite the ease of
the measurement, it is crucial to know the moisture content of the soil in
order to comprehend its properties.

CONCLUSIONS:

Since the soil's mechanical response to weight loading ultimately

depends on its moisture content at the time of construction, an accurate
estimate of the water content of the soil on site is the most important
consideration in civil engineering projects. For a particular volume or
weight of the substance, the moisture content of the soil is used to
indicate the phase relationships between the phases of water, air, and
solids. For cohesive soil, a specific soil's relative consistency is expressed
using the soil's consistency, coupled with its liquid and plastic limits.
