The recent book I read was entitled Twelve by Lauren Myracle, the author of the book.

It was
originally published in February 2007. It is Young Adult Fiction. The author’s style sharply
observes a year in the life of a winning young brave woman whose humor, daring, and
compassion for others is infectious and unforgettable. The author, Lauren Myracle wrote this
about girls and their puberty. It also tells teenagers especially girls to be prepared, or older girls
reading to look back at this time in their young teenage years.. The theme of the book is growing
up and friendship. The theme is about growing up because Winnie just gets into 7th grade and
there is a lot of change that happens to her. The theme is also about friendship because she meets
new people, but she also gets into arguments with her friends. I learned that in every stage or
every year of life, we will meet a lot of people. I learned that not everyone is permanent. Maybe
our old friends will leave us in the future or will stay with us no matter what happens. The book
surprised me when Winnie doesn’t want to develop yet and doesn’t want to become a young
woman because every girl will come to this stage of life and we need to be ready for those
changes and challenges that will go through our lives. The book is all about developing is part of
our life and at first Winnie didn’t want to develop but then having a talk about her friend named
Sandra she was ready and okay with it. The part that attracted me the most is when Winnie
understands that every girl will develop. I liked this book because Winnie describes her years
and what she goes through, in the summer and school year. I think that Winnie is now realizing
that she has to change to become more of a woman and to become a teenager. “And that was
freaky to think about, how life could go from wonderful to terrible in the blink of an eye.” This
quote enlightens me to focus on the good things, but bad things don’t matter and will leave you
with a lesson. This quote also tells me that life is worth living. The book sparkles because it is
fun to read and will leave you a lesson especially in developing and facing changes in life. It also
taught me that struggles are part of our lives and we can overcome them. It showed the true
journey of growing up. This book was my main source of education for all things about girls. It
might open up the door to some discussion about growing up and being a girl. This book was a
very good one to read. Lastly, I would like to give my recommendations to this book. The book
opens up the door to some discussion about growing up and being a girl.
