Voters Education and Global Citizenship

As some would say, “we are all entitled to our own opinions”. As humans, we are capable of making our
own choices and that includes the manner of voting. Voting is a method for a group, in order to make a
collective decision, it is a fundamental process in a democratic system. It is a way or a chance fro the citizens of
a country to have a say in the people who represent them. We vote who and what we want, but we all need to
keep in mind that what we are voting for will result in a greater system.

Election is a great equalizer in society, no matter what group you are in, you have the right to vote for
the country’s future. Our country is considered as a dynamic country, and it is necessary that we adapt to
change, and it is also necessary that the change we want is for the greater good. I learned that as voters, we
should be true to ourselves, we should also not get involved in the dirty sectors of election processes such as
vote buying and many more. We should always keep in mind that the formal change is yours to make.

The other topic discussed in the said webinar is Global Citizenship. This concept have been introduced
to us students a lot of times, but I’m still grateful that I get to listen to new perspectives about the topic. Global
citizenship is a common sense of humanity, with its preserved members experiencing solidarity and collective
identity among themselves and collective responsibility at the global level. It nurtures personal respect for
others wherever they be. Global citizenship is also about the belief that we can all make a difference for a
brighter future. Keeping in mind of these concepts will surely improve the relationships among the countries in
the whole world.
