Fire Prevention

Fire is light and heat, especially the flame produced by burning. It is the combustion process
in which substances combine chemically with oxygen from the air and typically give out heat and
smoke. The webinar, entitled "Fire Prevention," involved real firefighters who discussed the
different aspects of fire and how we can prevent or extinguish it. I learned that fire has its own
components, mainly called "Triangle of Fire Tetrahedron". Its foundation is made up of heat,
oxygen, fuel, and chemical reaction.They highly influence one another, and if one component is
missing, a fire will not likely be produced. So basically, to remove heat, we need to remove at least
one element from the triangle.

I also learned that we humans are combustible and are considered fuel. That is why it is
important that we know how to prevent fire and extinguish it if it occurs. Prevention will definitely
avoid casualties or damage to any of our properties. There are four stages of fire, and they include
the initial stage, growth stage, fully developed stage, and the decaying stage, which we all should
keep in mind.

A fire extinguisher is an active fire protection device used to extinguish or control small fires,
often in emergency situations. It is important that we have fire extinguishers in our homes,
buildings, or any other establishment, having this item can one day save our lives. There are
multiple types of fire extinguishers, we have the Dry Chemical powder, HCFC, Wet Chemical and
many more, which has their own specific uses.

We should always remember the harm that a developed fire can cause. Being careful with
our work that involves fire is necessary, such as: cooking, burning leaves on our lawn, and many
more. A fire can be produced, which is why it can also be extinguished. We should be
knowledgeable about our surroundings and always take further precautions to avoid such accidents
and consequences that we may regret in the near future.
