Fire bridge

Firefighters are those who

protect us from fire-related
accidents. Firefighter has a
special type of machine to put
out the fire. The fire engine is
their main machine, due to
which it mostly extinguishes the
fire. Before the firefighter is
engaged in this work, many
types of training are given.
Firefighters Shining above all other living species in the world, wearing
yellow suits and red boots, are firefighters. I was at the age of two when I
first saw them, and my life hasn't been the same since. I remember
waking up in the middle of the night to the shriek of the fire alarm. It was
absolutely terrifying, but before I knew it, screaming sirens were
approaching. A red truck with flashing lights appeared, and I suddenly
felt assured as I saw the fearless firefighters emerging from the truck,
ready to save the day. Whether they're putting out fires, teachings kids, or
even saving cats from trees, there is no job that firefighters can't
accomplish. If you think police officers are heroes, think again.
Firefighters put out fires, help the community, and most of all, they are
dedicated..
Not only do firefighters deal with fires in buildings, they also
deal with landscape fires, such as fires in forests and rural
areas. Forest fires are devastating, and are difficult to
manage. Large areas of land would be ruined if firefighters
weren't there to stop the fire. As a result of distinguishing
fires, firefighters save lives, protect buildings, and maintain
our environment. The acts of firefighters go beyond just
dealing with fires. In fact, fires are only 20% of what
firefighters are involved with. Firefighters are highly trained
to be able to respond instantly to any emergency situation. A
large portion of the firefighter profession involves fulfilling
requests of the Emergency Medical service, which may
involve dealing with heart attacks and car accidents.
Firefighters are also devoted to acts of public service. This
incorporates carrying-out the building inspection procedures,
and ensuring that laws regarding fire safety are followed.
The fire triangle or combustion triangle is a simple
model for understanding the necessary ingredients
for most fires.[1]

The triangle illustrates the three elements a fire

needs to ignite: heat, fuel, and an oxidizing agent
(usually oxygen).[2] A fire naturally occurs when
the elements are present and combined in the right
mixture.[3] A fire can be prevented or extinguished
by removing any one of the elements in the fire
triangle. For example, covering a fire with a fire
blanket blocks oxygen and can extinguish a fire. In
large fires where firefighters are called in,
decreasing the amount of oxygen is not usually an
option because there is no effective way to make
that happen in an extended area.[4]
keep us safe at home, school, work and every public place. Fire extinguishers
are one of many health and safety regulations. According to a survey conducte
among coworkers and peers, 8 out of 10 people said they own fire extinguishe
in their home and have them at their place of work. (Raymond, Sabrina, “Fire
Extinguisher Acknowledgment” Survey, July 2017). But what exactly is a fire
extinguisher? A fire extinguisher as defined in the Encyclopedia Britannica
(September 2014) is a “portable or movable apparatus used to put out small fir
by directing onto it a substance that cools the burning material, deprives the
flame of oxygen, or interferes with the chemical…show more content…
In 1818 a pressurize cylinder with potassium carbonate was introduced. In 186
soda-acid was introduced but Francois Carlier. Soda-acid extinguishers were
patented in US in 1881 by Almon M. Granger. Both Carlier and Almon both
used soda-acid but they used different agents for a chemical reaction. Calier
mixed soda-acid with water and tartaric acid, in which doing so created a CO2
gas causing pressure to build and the solution to be released from the cylinder.
Granger, used a sulfuric acid and soda-acid to release pressurized water onto t
fire. Also in 1881 two Englishmen, Read and Campbell developed an
extinguisher geared toward the automotive business called the Petrolex. The
Petrolex was a new type of extinguisher, using a CO2 cartridge to expel water
based extinguishing agents from a cylinder.
Fire occurs as a result of a series of very rapid chemical
reactions between a fuel and oxygen that releases heat and
light. For combustion to occur, oxygen, heat and a fuel
source must all be present; this is the ‘fire triangle’. Flames
are the visible manifestation of combustion.

The 'flash point' is the temperature to which a fuel has to

be heated for the gases given off to flash when an ignition
source is applied.

The 'fire point' is the temperature to which a fuel has to be

heated for the vapours given off by the fuel to sustain
ignition.

The 'spontaneous ignition temperature' is the temperature

at which these vapours ignite spontaneously without the
application of an external flame. Once ignition has begun
and the vapours ignited, flames will in turn heat the fuel
and increase the rate of production of flammable vapours.
A fire station will at a minimum have a garage for
housing at least one fire engine. There will also be
storage space for equipment, though the most
important equipment is stored in the vehicle itself.
The approaches to a fire station are often posted
with warning signs, and there may be a traffic signal
to stop or warn traffic when apparatus are leaving or
returning to the station.

Fire stations have often been built with a tower, for

purposes that have changed with time. A drill tower
is used for practicing high-rise rescue, while a hose
tower is used for hanging hoses to dry to prevent
rot.[1] Historically, towers were lookouts for
spotting fires.[1]

Activities at a fire station include regular inspection

and cleaning of the apparatus and equipment, and
training drills in which the firefighters practice their
skills. Some fire companies also host public
activities at the fire station during events such as a
"fire prevention week", and the facility may also be
used for fund-raising by the "firemen's association",
"fire buffs", or "fire auxiliary".
An electrical fire starts in a nightclub with at
least 250 to 300 patrons inside and quickly
spreads throughout the club. Due to the
nightclub’s location, in a high crime area of town
near abandoned buildings, security bars cover
the doors and windows. All occupants of the
building, with the exception of the nightclub
employees, are unaware of the other exits
available during an emergency and a vast
majority stampedes the front door to seek safety.
As the fire continues to spread, heavy smoke
proceeds to fill that main room where most of
the 250-300 patrons were at the time. This heavy
smoke causes patrons to lose visibility and have
difficulty breathing. The patrons that have been
able to escape the building suffer from major to
minor injuries, while some patrons are still
trapped. These patrons are suffering from burns
and severe smoke inhalation (some may have
possibly succumbed to the injuries). The
nightclub’s employees have exited the building
through various exits and contacted 911 and
emergency personnel (fire department, police
department, paramedics, etc.) arrive within 10 to
Fire safety has become the simplest way to save us from fire. Also, fire safety belongs to the
precautions which are taken to prevent or reduce the probability of a fire which may result in
damage, injury, and death. Fire safety is the most important component of building safety. Not
only is fire safety the most important component of building safety, but it is also the most
important component of ships, and airplanes safety. Fire safety keeps people safe. If fire safety
had not come, people would have faced a lot of problems.

If fire safety does not protect us from fire, it will at least reduce the likelihood of a fire. Fire
safety is a big help, everyone has to have fire safety. Fire safety might stop fire from starting.
Actually, there are a lot of types of fire safety.

Moreover, there are a lot of differences ways to use fire safety. Fire safety keeps people safe of
getting injury, death, and crashing.

Indeed, fire safety creates complete life safety solution for each buildings, ships, and airplane.
Fire safety has been protecting life and property for long time.

It is still the easiest way to protect life. If building does not have a fire safety , it will be done
by the fire. The fire will just take less than three minutes for a small flame to turn into a full
blown fire , so people should have a fire safety in their houses. There were a lot of fires were
about to get started , but they did not start because of fire safety. In this paper I am going to
write about; definition, history, how to use fire safety, how fire safety works, how important fire
safety is, factors which increase the cost of fire safety, and fire safety equipment development.
