My journey learning english

I always liked to study about the language, since young i listen a lot of music
and try to Search more how to better my english but i still need something more.

Since always I knew it was important to speak, read and write in english since it was
(and still is) the language the world uses to communicate. Also, I always wanted to
learn more about it.

When I was in middle school I had English classes but I felt it wasn’t enough, it was
hard to find private lessons because I lived in a very small town with low resources
so I needed to go further to find it and started to travel to another town to study.

I had not much instructions about it at this point of my life (i was 12/13 years old) and
the routine of travelling was very stressful and exhausting so I gave up os the
lessons very soon.

Anyways, those lessons i had was very important for me because they gave me a
spoiler of what I would go through later on.

When I was 18 years old I joined Wizard at the capital and that’s where everything
started. I began at W2 and it came to me in a moment where I needed something to
distract my mind. When this happened, I felt that desire to learn coming back and I
saw myself studying everyday and I could feel that I would reach my goal of being
able to speak/write/read in English fluently. I really enjoied the support I’ve got there,
the classes that were very different from what I ever see, everything made me want
more.

I finished W2 and right after I've got the opportunity to go to college at Paraíba, but
still I coudn’t stop my English course because it would give me a lot of opportunities
within the academic field. So I kept with it and made W4 and W6 there.

Then came the pandemic and because of personal issues I needed to come back to
my hometown.

It was a very annoying time for everybody, the classes stopped, college stopped,
people got discouraged to keep going. I kept with my English classes and Wizard
provided us this platform to have online classes but still, my life got messy and I
couldn’t adapt… I made through it but I didn’t enjoy it the way I should.

With everything that happened, I’ve got discouraged and stopped with the classes for
awhile so I could put my head on its place, breath and do things well done.

After I gave time to time, things finally flowed and now in 2022 that things got a little
better I returned to my classes and now at W8, still with highs and lows but this was
the year that i noticed I was evolving on it. This is priceless, after lots os obstacles
and discouragement, you can see how much progress you have done and I’m very
proud of myself, I consider this and achievement.

Also, I kept telling myself I couldn’t stop at this point, i couldn’t give up because I’ve
gone so far and now I’m so close of what I have dreamed for so many years, so I
also felt I had the obligation to do it and I will do it till I’ve finished all the stages.

I would like to thanks Wizard for making these moments come true, it is a huge thing
in my life because I feel it is like a major because it gives you many opportunities, not
only because you can learn a second language but also because you can meet
incredible people on this journey and it should be celebrated.

I also would like to thanks to the coordination for all the support and guidance they
gave me all those years.

Thanks to my teachers Fábio and Camilo, without them there wouldn’t have
knowledge. I would like to say that teacher Camilo was such an inspiration for me
and had a key role in this journey.

Last but not least, I would like to thanks my classmates for all thursdays we were
together and I wish them the best.
