Topic 8: Do you think secondary school students have too much

homework. Why ?
Yes, I feel middle school students have too much homewook. There is a
lot of evidences for this.
Firstly, Secondary shool students do not have enough time for other
activities such as sports teams, art, music, dancing, etc. These activities will
them develop themselves more comprehensively, adapt to many different fields
to find their true qualities. For example, they can become a dancer, singer,
painter in the future if they have time to access those gifted subjects right now.
Secondly, Many middle school students have to stay up late to solve too
many homework. This leads to them not having enough energy to get up and go
to school in the morning. Staying up late causes many harms to health and
students feel stressed and burnt out.
Thirdly, Students need time to bond with family , visting friends to create
beautiful and happy memories in life. However, homeworks take up a lot of
time for this. If this continues, middle school students will be resenting school,
losing interest and motivation.
Finally, Economic diffenences in each family make the assignment
unfair. For rich students who have access to technology, tutors, educated parents
will help them complete assignments easier and faster than poor students lack
access techonology, materials, favourable working conditions.
I think the amount of homework for secondary school students should be
reduced. Specifically, secondary school students should spend about 3.8 hours
per week on homeworks and encourage them to think for themselves and find
information from the internet to solve the assignment.
